The most heavily requested feature in Backloggd history is almost here.
Everything that's been previewed these past few months is almost ready for release. With that I wanted to do a small recap post of what you can expect to see in the 1.15 Game Editions update.
Game Editions (of course!)
Edition filtering options for game stats, reviews, and game logs
Redesigned game page
New time to complete stats o...

Hello!
Dropping by for a quick update on another aspect that game edition combining will change, that being search! Above you can see a list of results for "doom dark premium" which today would yield 0 results. Now you get Doom: The Dark Ages right at top with its premium edition recommended as a subtitle since it detected an edition in the query. The search algorithm has been updated to use more of a token approach by looking at each word in your query and finding best matches based o...

Happy Friday!
As this week closes out, I wanted to share my latest progress on the edition update coming in 1.15. This week I spent most of my time building a system to separate stats for different editions so that all the same information you got before is still accessible, just under the parent's page now.
Games that have editions will be able to cycle through the main stats via a dropdown as seen in the screenshot above. The default view will include the parent game + all its...
Hello!
Now that 1.15 has been in-development for a few weeks, I wanted to start sharing some of the significant changes in detail as part of an expanded version of the monthly blog posts. You can check out July's blog here if you haven't already: https://backloggd.medium.com/developer-update-july-2025-6a76ee8baae4
But this time I wanted to go over the changes being made p...
Long time no see Patreon-goers!
I wanted to give a peek at one of the R&D projects I've been working on. This new discovery tool will enable you to find interesting games you haven't yet played! The idea is to provide a quicker, simpler way to find more well received games without having to fine-tune the general "Games" page filters. Having a dedicated space also allows me to play around with more specific parameters (like Game age) that don't make as much sense on the gen...
Hey all,
The logging expansion update is almost here, so far everything in on track to release just next week!
As a final preview, I wanted to share a quick changelog of features to expect in this beefy update:
Fully redesigned full log editor
New Time Tracker section in full log editor
New "Time to Finish" and "Time to Master" fields
Library Entries section redesign with a new field
Hello!
It's been a while since I've done a Backer-specfic census, so I wanted to bring it up-to-date with your thoughts on being a paid member of the site.
It should only take 5 minutes at most, so if you have the time and would like to share please give it a look! I'll leave the survey up for a week to give you time to submit. The results are anonymous as I don't collect any personal identifying data.
Also please don't share this link with anyone else as the questions are...
Welcome back to another 1.14 preview, this time taking a look at the UI for the mobile and quick log editor variants.
With the quick editor being the most used variant, I think it's important to largely keep the initial fields the same. So while navigation is a bit different, you'll still find the "core" fields intact with how it is today. I'm also removing the "advanced" expandable section in all editors in favor of a more visual tab called "Details". I found many users didn't use the ...

Hello again!
I wasn't planning on making these updates a weekly thing but there's been so much progress it's hard not to! This time we're looking at the work-in-progress redesign of the Time Tracker section.
Right now I find it can be very easy to get confused on there being three different places you can input Time Played (total time, per log, per session). I'm hoping the extra details and explicit options laid out on this new scr...
Happy Valentine's Day!
My love to you is this new screenshot of what I've been up to, a slight redesign to the full log editor. I'm mainly playing around with this because I want to take this opportunity to flesh out features adjacent to editions.
My thought process is that both time tracking and the library will need to be expanded in terms of options, which is pretty difficult with the amount of space on the current editor. Putting them behind their own tab gives an entire edi...
Hello!
I want to say thank you in response to a very supportive first month since going full-time by dropping a peek at what the next content update will be focused around. Now that 1.13 is mostly wrapped up, I'm now focusing on putting together the feature you've all been waiting for...
You heard it here first! With this update you'll be able to track which edition of game you've played in the same log as the parent, instead of having to track it ...

For years, I've been developing Backloggd as a solo side project — something I could only dedicate a few hours a week to.
That changes today. I'm excited to announce I'm now taking on Backloggd as my full-time job! 🎉🎉🎉

Dropping by for another look at what'll be included in the upcoming 1.13 update. This time we're revisiting game duplicates on the site and how they'll be handled in the new release. Backloggd enthusiasts will recall the 1.9 update introduced game merging but unfortunately as time went on it became apparent that the tool wasn't built for scale. As more and more games are added to Backloggd every day, it's time for a reintroduction.
Changes being introduced will mainly be on the admin s...
Hey everyone, hope you're doing well!
Stopping by to give a look at the latest highly requested feature coming in the next major update. That being the ability to like games! Give your favorites a heart on the game page or via the quick access bar to keep a list of your most liked games. They will then appear on your profile under the liked section along with your reviews and lists.
This will especially give a new route for those who prefer not to give ratings to a game by stil...
You won't have to wait much longer to discover what's next for Backloggd. Check the blog for all things Series.

Hello!
The next release of Backloggd is right around the corner as 1.12 wraps up development and so I wanted to give a peek at what you should expect.
As the screenshot suggests, series will make the debut as another way to browse games within the site! You'll soon be able to filter on games from a series, see related games on a game page, and even have tailored stats towards series completion on the all-time stats page (Backer exclusive). I'm sure more features / ideas will come...
With the newly released 1.11 update, patrons can expect a couple of changes to new and existing perks.
Widgets are a new feature introduced that allow you to personalize your home page. Widgets alone are available to everyone but Backers have an extra layer of personalization with customization settings available on select widgets. This allows you to really pinpoint how you want your widget to function.
Expect more widgets to receive customization opt...
Hello all,
I wanted to check in before this year ends as I know it's been a couple months since the last update. I really wanted to get 1.11 out before the holidays but some setbacks have left another 10% of work to be done before the update is truly ready. After trying to crunch on the remaining progress this past month, I've decided I'm going to take a break from working on Backloggd for the next couple of weeks and focus on taking a break instead. That way I'm truly rested to wrap t...

Long time no see!
Given it's been about a year since the 1.10 update I think it's time to start giving a glimpse into what's coming next!
[Update 10/17] Lots is still happening behind the scenes! Hoping to wrap up the last large feature soon, after that progress should be flowing much quicker. Will keep you posted!
Progress 99% (Last updated 1/30/24)
Hello patrons!
Backloggd now supports direct integration to Patreon in order to sync your tier's perks within the site. To get started just follow the steps below:

4....
Progress on the 1.10.6 update can be summarized with this:

Originally this minor update was going to mainly feature integrating Patreon into Backloggd so that you don't have to rely on me to manually update your account's perks for Patreon changes. Although over the course of the last few months it became apparent that we needed a better system for handling removed reviews. Specifically an app...
