Update 7th Feb '21
Added 2021-02-08 00:06:37 +0000 UTCAs I mentioned in the midweek post, I did get off to a bit of a flier.
The Charm Seller NPC is written, typed up and a good chunk of her implementation is done.
Her name is tentatively "The Buxom Lolibaba", if I think I won't get in trouble for it. She's a shortstack witch with big tits who's described as being all ages of womanhood in one body (a borrowing from Arthurean mythology, I think, it's been a while since I've read it). Imagine if MGQ's Arekishi drew a witch and you've got her (he did the Imp squad and others, and specialises in short girls with very big tits). The name is a play on that - Buxom (the Mother) Loli (the Maiden) baba (the Crone).
But... mentioning "loli" anywhere, even if the character speaks like an old lady and has jugs bigger than her head, can be misconstrued, usually by social media outrage warriors acting in bad faith, so... I don't know.
Does the name sound okay? The other option - "The Buxom Witch" - felt a little plain to me. Same for the "The Buxom Charm Seller". But plain is better than let's-shut-your-patreon-down controversy, so that one still isn't finalised.
Anyway. That can be changed.
Charm names is also in that category. I've implemented about 11, just the low-hanging-fruit ones that tweak a few numbers (increase actions, increase semen count, permanently alter stats). The Charm Seller herself doesn't have too many passages, hence why she's almost done. A lot of the work will be the charms. That, like the harlots, will be ongoing. I'll put all the easy ones in version 0.016 and then add more later as I come up with them. One in particular will require a lot of text changes in multiple places, so I'm leaving it as something that can be bumped to March if I'm running late.
While I've implemented a bunch of charms and designed a few others, I still need to write descriptions for them. The names will be temporary placeholders. The Buxom Lolibaba has a grandiose sense of style, so her charms will have typical fantasy-esque names, such as "The Shining Sigil of Sir <YourNameHere>". This might be a reward I can offer to patrons later.
While work on the new NPC is going far quicker than I was expecting, original harlot scenario progress was a little more plodding. I caught up with typing up Rubber Ball Synthetic Girl (another 1.5K words). That got her back on track enough for me to write her Bad End, but I did find multiple times in the week that I sat down with the intention to write more on her and then found myself doing something else half an hour later. That might be an indication I need to put her aside and work on other harlots. In theory I can use her scenario as is, as it has a sex scene and a Bad End. However, I did plan her to be a two-scene harlot, and I'd like to stick with that (and the other Bad End is comically disgusting). I think I'll give her Monday to see if I can finish the full 1st draft, and if I find I'm still sticking, I'll put her aside and start work on other ideas.
Anyway, that's it for this week. Things still moving nicely.
As always, your interest and support is much appreciated.

I also wondered about what manyeyedhydra meant by that. :-D Maybe the problem is the "buxom" part? Is it something about objectifying succubi? Anyway, google search for "loli" gives me "precociously seductive young girl"... which makes sense, given the topic. "Baba" on the other hand is common word for "father" in many languages. That is a little strange, but in some languages it also means "old woman", so again, it makes sense given topic but sort of contradicts the "loli" part... I think hydra is just messing with our head with all this semantics. :-D :-D
2021-02-25 20:55:44 +0000 UTCI don't see why lolibaba should be a problem? The name has no connection to any cultural issues or anything. It's just a mash up of two words that renders it pretty much meaningless from the perspective of cultural considerations.
