Some news about the future!

So, three bits of news for you!

1. Irwin’s Journey Book 3 Release
Book 3 of Irwin’s Journey will release on Amazon next Thursday! I’ll be sharing a sneak peek of the cover this weekend.

2. Moving from Self-Publishing to a Publisher
This will be the last book I self-publish. Over the past few years, I’ve found myself procrastinating on releases more and more. It's not because I don’t enjoy writing, but because I don’t enjoy the publishing side nearly as much. Between being a father, working a full-time job, and writing, the workload has simply added up.

A few months ago, a publisher reached out about re-releasing Irwin's as well as handling the upcoming ones. At first I wasn’t sure, but after thinking it over, I’ve decided to accept their offer.

The downside is that when a book is officially released on Amazon (starting no earlier than the end of the year), I’ll need to remove those chapters from RoyalRoad and Patreon. It’s not how I originally planned things, but if I don’t take this path, I’d probably end up stopping publishing altogether, and I don’t want that.

I know some of you wont like this, as you have always let me know how glad you are I leave Irwin's on RoyalRoad. I hope those of you who are among these understand my reasoning.

As a quick sidenote: Irwin’s Journey is not ending anytime soon. I have a clear plan for the story. We’re well past the halfway mark, but there’s still a long road ahead. My current guess is that we’ll reach the endgame sometime early next year. That said, given my track record with timelines, I might be underestimating again.

3. A New Story: Carbon Copy
Some of you might remember that I mentioned a few months back that parts of my work might have been compromised. While most of that has been resolved, it made me realize there’s one story I’d really regret losing. After rereading the first draft several times, I’ve decided to polish it up and share it here.

I first wrote this story back in 2020 and already had about 150k words drafted. I’ll begin publishing chapters here in a few weeks. To avoid spamming everyone, I’ll post quietly until around 20 chapters are up, and then I’ll make a proper announcement. I’d love your feedback when it goes live!

The story is called Carbon Copy. It’s a more traditional LitRPG. That said, it doesn't have blue boxes or walls of XP spam and long lists of skills. Those who read more of my books will know I don't enjoy those that much.

Synopsis
When the System integrated with Earth, the rules were simple: prove your worth or be left to die. For Dan, stuck with a single pathetic skill and the smallest experience modifier, extinction seemed inevitable. He was discarded. Useless. The thing he had feared for most of his life.

But everyone, including he himself, made one mistake.

His skill, Carbon Copy, isn’t as simple as it looks.

By killing a monster and stealing its form, Dan can bypass his human limitations. He can finally gain real experience. He can finally level up. But as always, there is a price...

A price he will have to pay if he is to survive in this savage new world, and perhaps hunt down the slavers who stole his family. He must hunt, transform, and evolve, using the bodies of his enemies to fuel his growth.

They said he had no potential.

But Dan is about to show the universe that you should never underestimate determination, not even if it goes hand in hand with depression.

I look forward to reading your other story. One of the things I love about Irwin's Journey is how you scaled the powers of the characters as the story progressed. At this point they are really strong but every power up felt satisfying and properly paced. I look forward to what you'll do with a traditional litrpg story =). Also best wishing with the publishing stuff
