State of the Realms, July 2025
Added 2025-08-01 13:03:26 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
Holy shit, July was an absolute madhouse. I'm talking full rewrites, line edits, signing with Aethon, submitting to Aethon, starting book 2, and somehow actually plowing through book 2 now. My brain feels like it's been through a blender, but we're on the other side of it and things are looking good.
Here's the thing that's got me excited—book 2 is moving way faster than I thought it would. Probably because I had several months of editing hell to really structure and outline it during all those rewrites. I'm going to be pushing hard to stick to the original October timeline for the Royal Road re-release, and honestly I think we can make it happen.
Patreon Tiers - Keeping my Sanity
Alright, let's talk tiers. I can't sustain 3-5 different tiers all with their own timelines without losing my mind, so we're keeping it clean with ~3 tiers. The middle tier is going to be your sweet spot—probably around 6-10 bucks and it'll unlock all the chapters, giving you about 6 weeks ahead of the free releases.
Weekly releases will still drop at the same time for everyone on Patreon, including free members. Each tier gets its own Discord role, plus the usual stuff—Q&As, hangouts, maybe some gaming sessions, readthroughs, all that good community stuff on the higher tiers.
And look, if something isn't working, we'll change it. This is a community, not just a book.
Where'd Runebound Go?
Quick answer: I pulled the chapters from Royal Road because the re-release is going to be the new home for everything moving forward. If you want a copy of the collector's edition e-pub of Rise of the Paladin, just reach out and I'll send you a download link. No big deal.
Come Hang Out
We've got a Discord now and I'll be posting content and updates there too. I'd love it if you joined to keep in touch: https://discord.gg/rsNSKunTyE
Thanks for Sticking Around
Last thing—thanks for sticking with me through all the rewrites and the radio silence on releases. I know it's been quiet, but when things start up again, they're going to move fast. We'll be right back in the thick of it before you know it.
More to come soon. Can't wait to get back to regular posting and see where this story takes us.
Cheers,
M.S. Davidson
