The Goonies | FULL Reaction

HEY YOU GUYS... I loved this movie!!! (Ignore the fact that I misheard Sloth's name until the end of the movie hahahaha I figure it out eventually, I promise!)

The Goonies | FULL Reaction

My favorite production story about The Goonies comes from Josh Brolin (Brand). When they all come out of the water slides and land in the water in front of the pirate ship set (which was all practical and actually there), the kids had not seen it and Donner wanted to get their real reactions to this incredible, real pirate ship on the first take. So they were backed onto the set with blindfolds and when they come up from the water to see the ship for the first time, Brolin was a little late on the cue and comes up, sees the ship and says "Holy Shit!" which ruined the take, lol. ---C

I am former US Coast Guard. I was stationed in Astoria Oregon. It is on the Columbia River right before it spills into the Pacific Ocean.

In one of Corey Feldman's music videos he made later in life, Sean Astin appears huffing on his inhaler from this movie.

There’s a line in this movie, which is my favorite, not because of the words, but because of Martha Plimpton’s delivery… “Brand… God put that rock there for a purpose, and um, I’m not so sure you should, um, move it, um…” Runner up… “…That’s all I can stand, and I can’t stand no more!” Now for another film in the same vein as The Goonies but in the Sci-Fi genre, released one month later… Explorers (1985)… starring a young Ethan Hawke in his film debut and a young River Phoenix.

Loved the little Sean Astin Goonies nod in Stranger Things… “What’s at the X? Pirate Treasure?”

Sloth was played by former Oakland Raider John Matuszak. He was 6'8" and around 270lbs during his playing days.

The ship was not from Disneyland. was build and inspired by the movie "The Sea Hawk" (1940) . This movie is a classic,

Teegan, the Indiana Jones meets Home Alone analogy makes sense given Spielberg produced (and basically co-directed as evident in the natural feel to the kids’ interactions and dynamics) and Chris Columbus (Home Alone and the first two Harry Potter films) wrote it. This film essentially set the benchmark for kids on an adventure and you can see this influence continue today in things like Stranger Things. And Richard Donner directing gave the Sloth reveal of the Superman shirt even more of a fun note.

Its movie marathon day with Teegan.. love it. So heres something cool about the making.. Jeff Cohen, who played Chunk, got the chickenpox right as filming began.. but he didnt want to be recast so he showed up on set with them. The scene where he lifts up his shirt and jiggles .. you can kinda see spots on him.. they did cover them with makeup. Talk about dedication. This movie definitely had a lot of future stars.. like Corey Feldman ( who I actually met a couple years ago at a convention) , Sean Astin, who if you didnt know is the son of John Astin, who played the original Gomez on the Addams Family tv show. Then you also had Josh Brolin, Thonos himself and Ke Huy Quan (Data), who just recently won an best supporting actor Oscar and is now having a cool comeback in his career. Anyways, great reaction as always. Are there any more movies youre posting today?

This is the film I am still the most surprised by hearing that someone hasn’t seen it. Everyone born before 2005, I feel must have seen this. Should have seen this. A childhood is not complete without The Goonies. I’ll give allowances for anyone born after 2005, but before… no excuses. I blame the parents. ;-) They ought to pass a law that every child sees this film by the age of 13. It’s a Birthright. :-) Goonies 4 Life!

Ohh, I love this movie. So excited to watch this reaction. And we're off to a good start. The audio is perfect so far.
