Weekly Dev Log #4, July 3rd 2023

Hello! What a week it has been - writing wise, I churned out over 7k in both the interactive fiction, and in side-stories. I am really enjoying seeing the number go up :>

There was a part of the next chapter in Ouro where I got really weird and poetic, and I'm still considering if I want that there, but it was exciting to write, even if the emotions are heavy. I’ll give you one more sneak peek of one of the less...insane parts:

Everything perched on the shattered edges of sanity. The mass of it, unbearable. The pain- somehow your anchor. You cling to it like ink to paper.

I have also been writing this chapter path-by-path which has been fun! Right now I have the lead up, the start of the event, and the fight done for etherweaver and beastmaster, and then a bunch of disjointed scenes for after - and to me, those are gutwrenching and aching. OUGH I love them but it feels very good to reach and pass the peak of the very dark introspection the hunter goes through. To see the hunter go from apathetic to driven is a treat! There will of course be more moments like this as the hunter heals (or especially if they refuse to), but I am very excited to get to the more lighthearted parts of the story now. 

I’d say I’m about 1/3rd of the way through of the chapter as a whole - there is still lots left to write, but I am getting there, and it feels great!

I think that is it for this week- I am putting together a monthly progress report that will go up on Tumblr sometime this week, so keep your eye out for that :>

Oh, about Friday- instead of the bonus nsfw story, I will be posting Idren/Ida’s Q&A. I haven’t received any questions for it (which is fine, I have troves and troves of them lol) but if you do want to ask them something specifically, don’t forget to send it in, on Tumblr, discord or through here!
