I can relate to you on the feeling of wanting things to look “perfect” or a certain way. It’s extremely easy to get caught up in that and lose sight of having fun. I didn't turn my hobby (drawing) into a job, but I roughly feel the stress of it for a different reasons. That being I was very obsessed with trying to make it look professional quality because I thought that what would give me attention that I almost lost sight of what really matters to me, which is having fun. I tried so hard to make a professional quality art, that I ended up not making any at all

If anything I take it as a compliment that my work can remind someone of an anime or manga ✨ The big things that I don’t like are the putting down/negative comparison thing. It’s completely uncalled for and just comes off really mean and rude. But I know Ali cats would never do that :3 ❤️

D: Totally agree that backhanded compliments or subtle jabs can really ruin the mood, even if they're dressed up as praise. There's never a need to lift one thing up by putting another down. On that note: sometimes I mention things like "Hey, this reminds me of anime/manga X!" when talking about your art. I always mean it in a positive way - like, "I love that kind of vibe!" and it's easier to refer / compare to - but just in case, I hope that doesn't come across the wrong way. Totally understand if you'd prefer it toned down, though!
