Roleplay poll 38 & QOTW! :)

Hello everyone, we're almost halfway through the week- yay! I hope you're all doing well and staying hydrated and positive lol. This week I thought it would be a fun idea to have a character selection themed type of audio, as in you're creating a character for a video game :P The story and how it will go depends on the game genre that wins, so let me know which one sounds most interesting to you! This will be for next Friday as this Friday is a big sister themed character :)

Question of the week is something I thought of last night that made me chuckle- you'll find out why in an upcoming ramble I'll be posting later tonight or tomorrow. The question is: do you have any irrational fears or a fear that you know is pretty silly but you can't help?

Comments

I'm finally finding time to slowly catch up on some posts here too. Looks like I missed some good comment engagements >.< but one at a time - no rush. Happy late Birthday, Secular! I can sorta relate to the RBF problem, though mine is more like a RSF (resting sad face) lmao

Thank for the HBD! I did indeed treat myself. Bought a desk for my future PC, finally got some curtains for the bedroom window (the 99% light blocking will come in clutch for night shifts), and brand new bedding. I even hung up some pictures, room’s looking real fresh now!

Secular Succotash

Happy late birthday Succotash!! ^_^ Sounds like you had a pretty busy week last week. Hopefully you got to do or buy something for yourself too- it was your birthday after all! I get you on the catching up thing. Some weeks I feel like I got all this time and then next thing I know I'm behind :') Like I told someone else though, you listen and interact as it fits your needs and schedule. So long as you're relaxed and entertained you listen to stuff whenever you want- doesn't matter if it's now or later! I hate confrontation too and usually try to avoid it at all costs if I can help it. You know though, sometimes it's unavoidable and I've often found myself thinking "I wish a bitch would" lol. Just to be clear that usually involves rowdy customers I think that about xD

Finally found time to catch up on the Patreon! Last week was my birthday week, I ran a training event at work, and I cooked some bangers and mash for a potluck so I was a little bit busy. Thankfully I don’t have too many fears I can think of. Well, aside from confrontation that is. But that’s more social anxiety than phobia haha It’s silly cause according to the people I meet I look mean and intimidating until they get to know me (it’s the family RBF) and yet the idea of confronting someone leaves me racked with anxiety lol

Thinking about it, mannequins are a little creepy. Maybe it's the amount of horror movies and shows I've seen use them in weird ways but yeah, I can see them being a fear! I will say this though. As a retail worker I fear them in another way too: those bastards are heavy and changing the clothes on them is a nightmare ; o ;

alichu

I think I've mentioned both these fears before, spiders and mannequins. Spiders is pretty obvious as far as irrational fears go, mannequins on the other hand, well, it makes clothes shopping harder, that's for sure. I'm trying to get over them both though, but it's a little hard lol.

ProzXADYN

I'm ok with spiders until they come into my place- then we have a problem lol.

alichu

I've had that happen before too lol. Unfortunately, I can never pick up the dream where it left off :')

alichu

I used to be afraid of spiders but because of certain anime’s. I love spider wafus . I mean spiders

Wheniks

That's good to hear!! And lol I'm even getting better with heights, honestly, the only thing that really scared me in the past few years, which was honestly downright terrifying, and that was that.. honestly I'm not sure.. possibly bigfoot encounter when camping, or some other such cryptid lol

Delta

Yeah, I don't think they are the most irrational outright but it is something I think about constantly when I am in either scenario. But overall I don't have many fears that are irrational so they were the only ones I could think of.

JokermanTalon

I'll say that it is a double edged sword, what if it was a really good dream instead of a bad one and then you wake up but you really want to go back to the same dream so your go back to sleep again

Karmax

I'm sorry to hear that Joker- I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend to rest and catch up on your gaming! :) I think you did mention your fear of the ocean before which I understand completely. The unknown of it (along with drowning) is scary to me. I don't think that or your fear of the wilderness is irrational at all, definitely makes sense to me. Even as someone who's comfortable in the woods, the idea of getting hurt out there is very real and terrifying ; o ;

alichu

That's great Antoni, I'm glad to hear you'll be getting a good part-time schedule next week! :) And please take all the time you need to listen to the audios! This goes to anyone else reading too but don't ever feel like you need to listen right away or at all. I much prefer people to do so in their own time when they are nice and comfy ^_^ I'm still up in the air on my belief of ghosts but given my experiences I can't deny the possibility lol. I don't think it's irrational at all to be scared of the unknown like that. Any movement in the dark tends to freak me out so I get it! Speaking of which, if you ever get yourself a pet cat be prepared for that- they love scaring you at night :P

alichu

Oh man, I remember those growing up and they are scary! Same thing with the ones that would play on the radio when you'd be driving in the rain. It's like, "Welp, time to get my ass home" lol.

alichu

I don't think that's irrational at all Bob! I'd be lying if I said I haven't spent a significant amount of time before thinking about that fear myself. There are two horror books I read recently that dealt with parasites and it only made that fear grow stronger for me unfortunately ; A ;

alichu

But Koala bears are so cute! Are they like sloths in that they purposely appear that way but are actually evil? I wouldn't put it past one of them to knock you off a tall tree when no one is looking. If that happens I'll get revenge for you Skelly!

alichu

I'm the same way Kai, even as an adult I still have that fear that something is behind a door or will be in a dark room lol. The worst is when I'm taking a shower and I think something will pop up if I close my eyes ; o ;

alichu

I like walking in the rain too so long as two conditions are met. One: it isn't cold or windy. Two: I have a hood on so my glasses don't get wet lol. I can relate to the sneaking up on people thing. I've been told by multiple people "Don't scare me, I didn't hear you walk up" lmao. I really don't mean to though so it makes me feel kinda bad ; o ; I get you on the loud sound thing for real. I've never done well with them, especially when it's a big dark barking, doors slamming, general things like that make me anxious and get my heart going. Yelling is a big one for me too, I hate when people yell/scream. Unless you're being attacked or in a screamo band there's no reason for it haha! Good luck on your interview tomorrow Azazel, I hope it goes well! :) And as Antoni said, you are all alicats :P Because cats are the best animal and I like the idea of you all being cute strays that I adopted lmao.

alichu

My week is going great so far, thank you! I've been learning how to draw on my iPad which is going pretty well so that makes me happy :D I would consider heights and paranormal experiences to be pretty normal fears. It's probably a good thing you don't have any irrational ones, so I'd consider that a win!

alichu

I never really thought of it that way but after reading how you described the feeling, I can see why that would be scary! I've had a fear on the opposite side of that where I was afraid I wouldn't wake up. Or those dreams where something terrible is happening and you're unable to wake up and feel stuck ; o ;

alichu

I am having a really busy week at work this week which sucks as I'm a bit too tired to play much FF7 Rebirth after work lol. My biggest irrational fear is the ocean. I think I've talked about it before but I don't even have a fear of like sharks or whatever but just the inability of being able to see into the darkness of the ocean freaks me out. Another fear is just the wilderness. Once again, not really for the animals in it but I fear like breaking my ankle or something and just having to suffer while no one will find me.

JokermanTalon

I'm having a still-challenging but good week! My overtime at work will finish soon, then I'll have a proper part-time schedule starting next week. I'm waiting for a good time to watch both your new roleplay and ramble, until then I hope you're having a great week too! Irrational fear would be ghosts - specifically me thinking I can see movement in darkness (it may just be eye floaters or hallucinations). I mentioned before that I do personally believe in ghosts/demons, though it may be rare (or even a myth) that they can inflict harm on the living... unless they do, in which case you and Skelly are in the clear. Lucky hmm

Artilleries

We're "Alicats" of course! But you can be an Ali-anything to be honest. I myself might start referring to myself as an Alibear ❤ 🐻 I can relate to getting scared by random small noises sometimes. Wood -creaks in the floorboards are the worst for that! By the way, best of luck! Or rather by this time it already happened; in which case, I hope it went well! I actually got a new job recently as well, fingers crossed you get it too, Azazel!

Artilleries

I get a little spooked when it comes to EAS alarms. Like I'll just be watching TV and then it tells me that a freaking tornado is headed my way. Scary.

MidKnight

I am terrified of parasites. Every time I feel a tingle I'm like "Oh god it's a parasite. I'm gonna have to rip out my insides." I don't even live in a country that has parasites. It's a completely irrational fear, but man parasites are scary.

cloudberrybob

As far as adult fears I luckily haven't got many, I will say that heights do still freak me out. It's not the height itself, it's that I fell like being up that high will freak me out so much that I think I'll lose control of my body and just fall anyway. Other than that, I won't say I fear them, but koala bears are not to be trusted.

Sir Skelington

Closest irrational fear I can think of is dreading something will pop out in moments of darkness around the corner. Even as an adult I know it's silly, but the childish fear pops up on rare occasion.

Kai Zomei

Horror imo is always gonna be the way to go when it comes to games and such. May make me seem like a psychopath(especially since I'm one of those people who walks in the rain without my hoodie on thinking "this is nice") but I just have a nack for horror. As for the question of the week, idk if this counts but it's any slight noise that just scares the shit out of me sometimes. I remember that I always just was so sneaky and quiet that I just scare my mother everytime I'm just behind her. However, anything that has like a slight cusp of volume(phone call going off in the dark, random things clainging from dishes, or even recently, the gas bump hitting back to let me know my car is full) just gets me to jump everytime and idk why. Also I kinda gotta agree with Delta about a fear of heights. Despite being tall, I really hate being in high places so honestly I kinda feel more remorse to wanting to be short because as Michael Reeves puts it, "I don't feel anything of tight spaces, and every bed feels like a king size bed." Maybe it's a good thing to be short Alichu... probably also a reason for liking short people honestly. Also, in some good news this week, tomorrow I've got an interview at a job so I may be able to financially gain more money to spend on patreon like I always do since I'm a... wait what are we clarified as here? Ali-supporters? Alichu lab rats? Ali-choo(yes, that was ment to be a sneeze like achoo lol)?

BloodyAzazel

Tis a good week so far! Well.. mostly.. lol need to work on the hydration though! Hope your week is going well so far! Also... horror... gotta go with horror after that banger of a wendigo audio! As for the question ...huh... that actually has me stumped... I don't think I actually have any irrational fear... I mean.. I have a fear of heights, but I don't think that's irrational, not really afraid of the paranormal since I grew up around that stuff... but even if I didn't, that's still not irrational.. I just don't think I have an irrational fear.. huh... at least not as an adult that I've figured out.

Delta

I had an irrational fear when I was younger that had me up for nights on end. It was the fear of sleeping. To explain, I valued consciousness and I was afraid of losing that consciousness and pretty much you go unconscious every night when you sleep, the ideal of sleeping and just waking up the next day like it was some sort of time skip sort of freaked me out. However now, I sleep like it is my favorite hobby :p
