Raven art, hello new patrons, and other stuff! ♥

Happy Saturday Ali cats, I hope you're all enjoying your weekend so far. I wanted to give a little hello since we've gotten more patrons! No pressure to comment but I do want to say welcome and thank you ♥

I had a lot of fun reading "The Raven" for you all so your comments made me very happy! I'm going to be replying to them later while drawing so I look forward to a relaxing night tonight :) I may try to record a ramble too if the windy weather calms down. I mentioned this on youtube already but moving forward I really need to push myself to learn how to draw/edit on my iPad. For that reason, I may have a few weeks where I only do one youtube video. Patreon always gets one on Friday though so no changes here :P

Song of the week is by one of my all-time favorite artists. Whenever I mention her I always get met with "I love her too" or "Who is that?" lol. She really is amazing though so I'm going to suggest my favorite song by her this week: "Hyperballad" by Björk.

For those new, I do song suggestions every week so feel free to suggest one of your own to share ♥

Oh, I don't think I've heard this band before. If I have, I don't recognize the name or maybe heard them in passing. Kinda sad I haven't heard this until now though because they seem right up my alley with the music I like. That song was really, really good! Damn, you all got some killer recommendations this week. Thanks for sharing Pro! :)

alichu

I got teary eyed so it's ok, you're not the only one :')

alichu

Watch that song blow up now because of the game haha! That would be awesome if it did though because it deserves it- amazing song for sure :)

alichu

Oh damn, I didn't even know someone made a cover like that. Gotta say, that was really interesting and well done. It really changes the view of the song when the music and tone are different. Tbh, I always thought the OG was just a catchy little song but never really paid much attention to the lyrics until now. Thanks for sharing that Succotash, I liked that! :) Byork has some really neat songs but that one has always been my favorite. The video, the message and her way of singing really stuck with me and made me a longtime fan!

alichu

I'm definitely one of the "who?" people for this recommendation, the song was reminds me of a few other songs I know of, relatively upbeat with some sad lyrics. As for my recommendation, I'm actually running out, and I'm forgetting what I've already recommended, so I'm really treading the wire. I don't think I've recommended 'Pittsburgh' by The Amity Affliction yet?

ProzXADYN

Both versions of that song are really good, I really like when a song can have a less than happy meaning but can be upbeat.

Sir Skelington

Alright that one was pretty good...shut up I'm not crying.

Sir Skelington

Damn good song Skelly! I was vibing, then that electric guitar swung in at the end and elevated the hell out of it. Great suggestion!

Secular Succotash

Definitely in the camp of “who is that?” haha, she’s signing about some pretty heavy stuff in that song though. The fact that the song is has that pop sort of vibe adds to the the idea that she’s hiding her depression from her partner to spare their relationship. Kinda reminds me of Hey Ya in that sense, a pop song masking sad lyrics. Actually that’ll be my suggestion, not the OG Hey Ya, but a cover done by EDEN that makes the song sound as sad as the lyrics. Good luck with learning the new tablet!

Secular Succotash

Yeah, I really liked it too! I also would be surprised if you had played it since it came out like 2 weeks ago lol. You're driving around in a car through out most of the game and they got some really good indie tracks licensed for the radio in it! Although I don't think any of them are even close to the premise of the game, they all fit the vibe of the game perfectly though.

JokermanTalon

Oh boy, you and Joker are really pulling at my heart this week with your song recommendations :') I love it though! That song was really good, and the video was perfect for what it's about. Thank you for sharing Skelly!

She is very unique that's for sure! I've been a longtime fan of hers, so I figured it was time I suggest one of her songs :D That Knocked Loose song was pretty badass, I really enjoyed that! The part in the video where the girl is walking towards the fire, I couldn't help but think, "This would make one hell of an alarm song to wake up to in the morning" lmao xD As for the hearts, nah- it still wasn't letting me :') I had to cheat the system and copy/paste lol.

alichu

Haha, I don't blame you on that- her videos are pretty weird and are easy to get lost in for sure. I remember when I heard her for the first time when I was younger. I thought how unique she sounded and I've been a fan since! I think a lot of people may know her from her "army of me" song. Oh dude, that Bloodoath song really got me ; o ; I've never played that game but damn those lyrics hit me right in the feels- in that good/sad way that I like. Thanks for suggesting that one, onto my playlist it goes!

alichu

Yes, I'd love to try and watch Hazbin Hotel sometime this week or next if I get time! A friend suggested the song Poison and I loved it. The video and the singing were great, so I think it's time I give it a shot. Loser Baby is good too and that's cool that you can replicate his voice! :D The theme and emotion of Poison really drew me in though, so for now I think that one is my favorite. As for the drawings, I'll probably switch back and forth later down the road, but for now I really want to learn how to draw on the iPad in case I need to take a trip or visit family. At least that way I can draw on the go! Until I find some Procreate brushes I like they will probably look similar to that fanart drawing I did of Fauna recently :) That Hairu Tokyo song was a banger too- I really liked that! You weren't kidding about the beat either, very nice song suggestion this week Azazel. Something about it gave me Gorillaz vibes so I dig it :P

alichu

Very nice! I gave that song a listen and it sounds so nostalgic for some reason. Maybe I've heard it before, but I can't put my finger on it. Either way, awesome suggestion- thank you! :)

alichu

I've been kinda excited to share this one because I really like it, THE ONLY TIME IT RAINS IN HOLLYWOOD by Red Leather.

Sir Skelington

"Hyperballad" was quite interesting. I always have that positive nostalgic feeling when I see that a song has been around for a long time. Björk seems like an incredible artist! For this week, the song I want to recommend is technically not actually MY recommendation. My brother shared a song on his story which I decided to check out, pretty good if you ask me. It's "Blinding Faith" by Knocked Loose. (I just realised, you finally figured out how to make heart emojis on Patreon! bravo)

Artilleries

I have heard of Björk a lot but I don't actually think I have ever heard her music till today. Not particularly to my taste but I really enjoyed the music video! I do kinda worry though that I got too distracted by the video that I didn't properly listen to the song lol. Will defiantly give it a listen later. My recommendation this week was going to be something Final Fantasy related but before FF7 Rebirth came out I played a game called Pacific Drive that had a bunch of really good indie songs! In particular there is a song called "Bloodoath" by EXES & Petey that I really enjoyed and it is my recommendation this week.

JokermanTalon

I've heard a little bird Alichu(some may say it was "a Raven" so to speak lol) that you are now gonna watch Hazbin Hotel if you could. Let me just say this, if you don't like Poison or Loser, Baby, then idek what to say. Also, are you just gonna state that from here on out that you are gonna do drawings on IPad until further notice or is it gonna be obvious that the drawing is on IPad. The song I would recommend that I wanted to recommend last week is a pretty good one that makes you feel something of intense. It's called White Wine Red Lies by Hairu Tokyo. It's such a good beat and I enjoy listening to it. Also, since I've already said about Poison and Loser Baby, which one do you like best between the two. Imo, it's tough but I feel more of a connection to Loser Baby since I just LOVE Husk doing his saying and because of the fact that I almost replicate his voice.

BloodyAzazel

Dream House by Deafheaven. I’m on my post-metal kick again.
