Ali Rambles: Talking about AoT and anime stuff! :)
Added 2023-11-15 02:53:44 +0000 UTCI want to reiterate that there are a lot of anime spoilers in this ramble as a heads up. As a person who hates getting spoiled on stories, I just want to make that clear!
I hope you all have a good week! I'll be posting a poll for next Friday's character sometime over the next few days. As for this Friday, I hope you're all ready for a "sweet" character :P
Also, I'll be posting the bug toy picture on Twitter sometime later for anyone curious about his stupid face xD

Oh damn, 10 years is a long time. There's no way in hell I'd remember key points after that long. As much as I love the dot hack franchise, if they made something new all of a sudden, I'd have to rewatch/reread a lot to be able to enjoy it- time wears on the memory for sure lol.

2023-11-19 21:41:44 +0000 UTCYeah I also don't have a very great memory for things releasing, I constantly forget to play DLCs for games that I have already purchased. Also for anime, they released a new season of Oregairu a few years ago after not creating any for like 10 years, and I have not watched it despite loving the series because I have just forgot too much lol. I don't particularly get emotional about about family relationships in media, more so friendships. But god damn I played a game last week that made me cry harder than I have in a long time. It's called Like a Dragon Gaiden, which is part of a very long running series, and there was just an event in it that killed me despite nothing particularly bad happening in it.

2023-11-18 17:55:51 +0000 UTCHaha, that's funny! Don't get me wrong I definitely don't want to go out by any means, but if I had to choose that would be my preference :P I very much do like that as a story/character idea, I'm going to write that one down for a future story so thanks! ^_^ I didn't see any dark chocolate ones unfortunately. I opted for the milk chocolate hazelnut and it's great! If I knew they were this good I would have gotten more to save lol.

2023-11-18 03:48:57 +0000 UTCHey, I liked your wall of text! You bring up some good points. Ngl, I got a good laugh out of "good thing he wasn't a fan of sloths" lol. I was thinking about it, and I just went, "Please don't tell me they made him into a bird/falcon because his name is falco" I can't justify that one at all lol. I love a good pun but damn xD As for Historia's baby, I thought for sure it was going to have something to do with Eren or maybe to prevent SOMETHING in the story, but looking back I'm pretty sure nothing came of it. It's fine and dandy if she wants a kid but they really pushed there being a reason for it which leaves me confused. I'm not sure if I'm correct by any means because I don't think it was said, but I assume the colossal titans vanished because Eren died and there was no longer a founding titan? Maybe Ymir (OG one) made them and they turned to sand? I'm really not sure but that's my best guess!

2023-11-18 03:43:50 +0000 UTCI'm not a huge fan of having to wait too long for new episodes/seasons to come out. Although I admit the reason behind it is a fault of my own- bad memory haha! If something takes a while to come out I will forget a lot of key points. I'm sure that's normal for a lot of people but it can get a little annoying when you just want to start the new season. A sure fire way to make me emotional in anything is to add in some sort of sibling relationship. I swear if it's anything to do with brotherly love or something, especially in a good/bad situation I just lose it lol. Not sure if you've seen Sirius the Jaeger but that one got me xD After watching the Akame ga Kill anime I'm not sure if I really want to read the manga. I know that sounds bad and I'm sure it's still good, but I really liked the anime ending, so I think I'd rather leave my memory on that one haha!

2023-11-18 03:13:40 +0000 UTCYeah prolonging things usually kills a bunch of hype. Not exactly the same thing but the most recent season of Jojo released in like batches of episodes instead of weekly releases and it felt pretty bad. Like the show was good but you would watch the like 12 episodes they release and then have to wait like 6 months to a year for the next batch of 12. There is a few AoT games that are hit or miss. The ones I mentioned have a lot of stuff to do in them and have a shit ton of playable characters so it was just cool to see all that. It also has coop in the second game which is neat. The only problem is that it came out in 2018 so not everything is in it. Yeah I get what you mean, it is kinda wholesome at some points, where as something like Itachi and Sasuke never really reached that point despite Itachi really liking his brother. There's a pretty similar relationship in the Trails games with a brother who is a major villain of one of the games but still really look after his brother who is working with the protag. I don't know the full details of the differences for Akame ga Kill but I'm pretty sure like almost all of the good guys survive in the manga. Like the MC doesn't die, I'm pretty sure Mine doesn't die either, etc. But like I said, I don't know very change.

2023-11-17 13:14:16 +0000 UTCI still do love the rest of the series and would like to do a retrospective and maybe even a how it should have ended. On Falco, the only thing I can think of is the wine he ingested to become a dumb titan was Zeke's, so I guess that means he now has Beast titan powers, which oh man does that make everything way worse, so that means that Zeke was just throwing around his titan powers and not caring if the two enemy titans get some (Eren & brown hair Ymir). This also means that people didn't need to eat the other titans to get their power, only ingest a tiny amount of spinal fluid and boom mega titan, you think that the Marleyans would have at least made their war chief into a mega titan if they could. But why is he a bird...idk guess he likes birds, they really don't go into detail about why the beast titans get their beast, guess it's a good thing he wasn't a fan of sloths or the world would be dead. I honestly don't know why they even wrote themselves into that corner, Annie doesn't want to fight to save the world and her dad...okay but then changes her mind for unknown reasons...okay. On Historia's baby, I thought, because of how they showed it, it was going to be the reincarnation of Eren, (that would have at least been interesting) I mean it happened at the same time as his mega titan gets its head blown off. But nope she really did have a baby with some rando that we don't even see his face, and the baby doesn't seem to have any plot significance, in a show where everything matters and everyone has a story. Also just want to bring up, after the final battle is over our friends who were just turned into titans (Conny & Jean) turn back into humans and all tians stop being titans, that's nice and all but what about the millions of colossal titans that were smooshing the planet five minutes ago, where did they go. It's like they never existed. Sorry for wall of text but I wall of text because I care lol.

2023-11-17 06:17:11 +0000 UTCThat’s crazy, you know my sister literally said the exact same thing, that her book collection falling on top of her would be her ideal way to go out. Wild coincidence, but I probably shouldn’t be too surprised. I’d bet most bibliomaniacs would find that to be an awesome way to kick the bucket haha (Also maybe a cool premise for a character? Like a Haunted/Cursed Library ASMR with a restless spirit that’s now bound to the books that fell on top of her and ended her life?) And you right, I was the one who brought up Tony’s Choco-Lonely. Their dark chocolate with almond and sea salt bar is my favorite candy hands down, only downside is that it’s not sold everywhere so you gotta find a store that stocks it, cool you happened across one! Dunno what black magic they use to make those things taste so damn good lol, but I’m glad you enjoyed it!

2023-11-17 03:52:25 +0000 UTCHange for the win! In a way I can relate to her given how into things I get. Perhaps I can also go out in a cool way, by the things I love most lol. Granted mine wouldn't be as cool as hers. I guess a huge pile of books would just fall over on top of me or something xD I sometimes forget details about things, so I think that's why I really like to watch reviews and stuff. It helps remind me of events or like you said, stuff I completely missed altogether. I also really enjoy when people critique things they like. I wasn't always like that, I used to swear up and down that FMA was the perfect story lol. But I like to think I'm better about that now. It can be hard, especially when we love something so much, but I think it can make for good conversation when we see stuff we don't like too! :) Random, but are you the one who told me about the Tony's chocolate bar? I'm asking because I bought one today and my God...best candy bar I've ever had. I remembered someone on here mentioning it and I think it was you lol.

2023-11-17 02:50:04 +0000 UTCI haven't read the entire manga but I couldn't help myself after a certain point in the anime- I ended up reading the end haha! I didn't think the manga ending was bad but there were some dialogue moments that I feel the anime improved on. I also liked a few little things here and there the anime added to give it more flavor. Like you and some others pointed out, there were some plot holes for sure, or just things that weren't explained well. I thought about that more after recording this ramble but overall, I did still enjoy it! It's also been fun reading everyone's thoughts on here too so thanks for sharing yours! ^_^

2023-11-17 02:29:27 +0000 UTCI get where you're coming from Skelly. While not with AoT I have had similar feelings towards other anime, and it can be a bummer for sure. I am curious about your thoughts on it overall though. I think it would be cool to hear/watch your video if you choose to make it! I really love hearing people's opinions on an anime, even if they are different than mine, it's fun to compare thoughts. I will admit that my memory isn't always the best so a lot of times I can be reminded of something that I didn't think about before when reviewing something. For example, after I made this ramble I thought about it more and I remembered Falco's character. Did they ever explain why the hell he could turn into a bird? Seems a little convenient given the situation all the characters were in because hot damn if he wasn't there haha! Also, maybe I'm missing something but given how the story ended was there really a point to Historia having a baby?

2023-11-17 02:19:02 +0000 UTCOhh, a rock golem character would be cool! I may just have to do something like that at some point. I can see the devious worm working for those sounds too :P The way they handled the ending with all the titles really was extra af. I'm very much under the belief that nothing is good enough to warrant such hype lol. While I've never played an AoT game I can only imagine how fun they are! I don't think I mentioned this, but compared to some other older siblings in anime I felt that Zeke was softer than others? Don't get me wrong, I know he killed a bunch of the cast- but hear me out! lol. His personality came off different to me than Sesshomaru from Inuyasha or Itachi from Naruto for example. Granted I love those characters, but their personalities were colder in the beginning towards their brother. I did enjoy that AoT had the younger sibling be the psycho for a change haha! I've never read the Akame ga Kill manga but damn, I loved the anime ending too. I like when a series isn't afraid to have an ending like that because it can make for good storytelling. And hell yes, even for those who have never watch AoT the soundtrack alone is just good. Every single one, Kenny's included, were great!

2023-11-17 02:04:12 +0000 UTCYou talking about how you found AoT reminded me of when I first found FMA years back. I was also watching Toonami and FMA played. My first thought was "Oh man, this cartoon is awesome!" It wasn't until a little later I learned what anime was. Little did I know back then that Naruto, DBZ, and Yu-Gi-Oh! were anime too lol. I'm not really familiar with Star Wars other than the basic stuff. My Dad was really into it, so I've seen some movies but not enough to know if I myself enjoy it or not. The parts that I do remember were cool though! I always found myself leaning more towards Fantasy than Science Fiction. Not to say that I don't love both but if I had to pick it's usually the Fantasy genre :P Building up a fight or ending to something and it being finished off quickly is a big pet peeve of mine in anime. It's been a while since I've seen it so forgive me if I'm wrong, but when it comes to Soul Eater, I remember there being a buildup of going against the Kishin. Same with FMA and the fight against "Father" only for them to end with a punch lol. Stories are trying to take a page out of One Punch Man haha! xD

2023-11-17 01:25:48 +0000 UTCIt could be a slug- it's some sort of worm bug is all I know for sure haha! I have seen it a few times in asmr shorts which is the only reason I recognized him. As soon as I saw it I remembered the sound and got one myself :P I think if I move him a certain way I could make it sound like bones rattling- which opens up a lot of story ideas that I think would be cool. I appreciate your suggestions on the rambles too, thank you! Smash or pass with anime characters could be pretty fun, maybe I'll do that sometime :D I've been thinking about rambling on some of my favorite books at some point also, or just types of books I like in general. As for the button to submit a comment on here I've done that a few times myself lol. On a computer if you hit enter it will post the comment- which I've done before being finished and had to edit it ; o ;

2023-11-17 00:36:56 +0000 UTCI completely understand being a slow reader. Growing up a lot of people would say I read fast but I never thought that at all- I would just spend most my time reading haha! But there's nothing wrong with being slow. Whether it be reading, art, anime, whatever; it should always be enjoyed at your own pace, so don't hesitate to try some series out (only if you want of course) :) As for the Titan OC idea, I'd really like to see that, especially since the beast titan is one of my favorite characters! :P I will admit this though, when I first ever watch AoT I laughed so hard at how silly I thought some of the titans looked. It wasn't until I watched more that I was like, "Oh shit, they goofy af but scary" lol. Don't worry about writing a lot Antoni, I always enjoy when you all send me comments and messages! It may take me a little bit to get to sometimes, but I really do love reading what you all have to say. One of my favorite things is taking a morning or night with a warm drink and replying to people ^_^ I hope you have a great day/night too!

2023-11-17 00:18:17 +0000 UTCI did watch a good bit of the first few seasons of AOT, mainly because my sister was super into it. Since I mainly just watched it with her though, after I left home I all but stopped watching it altogether. It’s not a bad show by any means, just never gripped me I guess. Though, I am aware of the meme of “The Finale of the Final Last Chapter Part 3 Appendix 4 No Seriously it Really is Ending This Time Guys Trust Me” lol. Also hell yeah, fellow Hange stan! She was definitely my favorite too, unhinged in the most charming way. While I didn’t watch far enough to get to the introduction of the Marleyans and everything I get being frustrated with a story deviating from the main cast. It just feels like a distraction, and all I can think about is, “Why can’t we just focus on the main cast? This is a waste of time!” I also watch reviews of media I watch, I just like hearing other people validate my opinion I guess haha, not to mention most of the time the reviewer finds details I missed and puts what I’m thinking into a much more eloquent format than I can. Finally, the ability to criticize something you love is a quality I wish more people had. I don’t think anything can ever be 100% perfect, and thinking critically about the things I like and don’t like about something I enjoy is much more engaging for me than ignoring the flaws entirely. It honestly makes me appreciate it more!

2023-11-16 04:41:35 +0000 UTCSeeing AoT in the title reminded me that I hadn't watched the Final final final we promise its the end guys I swear final episode, so I did that and then listened to this before I went to work lol. Anyway, I haven't read the manga (shame on me!!!) But I thought the ending was good. Going in completely blind, there were some obvious plot points and it was already blatantly obvious how it was going to end, but there were times when I was genuinely surprised at what was happening. Maybe it's just because I've not got much experience with critiquing things, or maybe I just hadn't spoiled myself before I watched the ending, but unless it really sucks, if I enjoy watching anything, I'll watch it without caring what others think. On the topic of the slug caterpillar thing, I've heard it before, and it makes some pretty decent sounds, but that face... it's definitely mocking us... laughing at us all behind its stare!

2023-11-16 02:48:54 +0000 UTCI guess I'm alone on this but I did not enjoy the ending of AoT. I'll be honest there's almost nothing I liked about it. So many things that could've been done but weren't, a bunch of stuff that wasn't answered and character scenes that just felt incomplete or nonexistent. With this ending the most validated person in the entire series is the king within the walls who just said let me have a sliver of peace in between these awful wars and wouldn't fight back all while his people were being killed. AoT meant a lot to me, I watched it when there was only one season of it and loved it, and I still think that the first three season are masterfully done but I've been disappointed with everything after. I'm trying to force myself to do some kind of video about it but I've been so busy lately, but either way I'd like to get my thought out on it.

2023-11-15 21:52:36 +0000 UTCFor the little guy, I think he doesn't look smug. He looks like he's plotting something devious lol. Also for his sounds, I very much doubt I predicted it right but the sounds make me think of like a little rock golem. Like the parts shifting while it moves. For AoT, I got into it pretty late, right before they opened the basement. I used to be turned off of it cause of how popular it was, but it is very good. Also I love that it's called Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special 2, it's so extra. Additionally, It was funny hearing you mentioned the reason for liking Zeke, I also only have half-siblings but I am on the Eren side of things. All of my siblings are 8+ years older than me. That being said, I don't relate to Eren very much overall, I like to think I'm not a psychopath lol. I didn't expect to hear someone talk about Scums Wish, that show hurt my heart but I do agree that it is very neat to watch. I am not a fan of characters that are overly good/righteous, it feels strange to me when a character has no flaws. Also I am kinda indifferent about Gabi's group, however I did just love the world building that came with those episodes so I was fine with them. And since we are talking about AoT, the games by ω-Force/Koei Techmo for AoT are very very good, particularly the second one. I haven't seen FMA, either one, but talking about darker endings vs happier ones makes me think of Akame ga Kill. A lot of people got really upset that the anime ended a lot darker than the manga but I thought it was fine, I still enjoyed it a lot. Also small edit because I forgot: The soundtrack for AoT is also so fuckin good. Hiroyuki Sawano is probably my favorite composer of all time and he definitely didn't disappoint with AoT. In particular I really like Kenny's theme (K21 I think it's called officially). I also just adore Kenny, despite him only being in the story for a short period of time.

2023-11-15 13:10:29 +0000 UTCHonestly spoilers don't bother mainly because I forget lol but attack was one of the first anime I watched back when the first 2 seasons came on toonami but as a kid I had no idea it was anime so I was like hmmmm this is a pretty cool cartoon lol. God though I totally agree the whole mystery with the basement drove me nuts as a kid I was like just open the fucking door oml but the rest of the anime never came on toonami and since that was my only way of watching anime at the time it slipped my mind and I forgot about it until like a few years ago and I was like heyyyy I remember that. I've only watched up until somewhere in seasons 3 where they go over erans dad's Backstory man I was so heart broken when I saw what happened to his dad's sister so I took a pause after that and just forgot to watch the rest lol. I totally agree with you that I love it when stories get real like emotion and how a character acts per say that's probably why I like star wars so much its sorta a reflection of the real world in a way like with andor which God I frecken loved so much it was just like soo real like you would Honestly forget it's about star wars that's how good the story is it's slow yes but it pays off really well. Personally I like it when stories get real as I feel it's gives the show or moive more realism and gives the audience more of a connection to some of the characters or world in way like if you take the fantasy part out it would still be like something you could or does happen irl. There's a lot of anime I haven't watched specifically like sad or hard hitting ones or just like deep only cuz I think im a little soft so it leaves me a little shook lol but I'll definitely get around to finishing aot and watching some of your other recommendations like full metal Alchemist and yes I frecken loved soul eater another og anime for me and yes I do agree that ending was very anti-clymatic but over really good anime and side note I freaking hate it when they build up to this like final boss villain type or just final battle and then they just defeat them in really boring way im just like. REALLY THATS IT all that build and x just goes down like that God 🤬but another side note I love it when there are stakes in shows or animes as it gives your a reason to care like if all the characters have plot amour or just don't risk dying so sometimes serious happening to them like why do I care but anyways that's it from me lol

2023-11-15 09:46:23 +0000 UTCAre you sure that's a caterpillar type of thing? It sounds like those slug toys that are an asmr based option. Either that or something "wooden." Anyways, I don't have an opinion on Aot, but I do agree that sub is better than dub. I may have to be stuck reading subtitles for a time period, but at least it doesn't sound less like what it should sound like. Also, if your gonna do more rambles, you might as well say whatever you want Alichu.(Here's even an idea: If you did insist on doing anything you think would be controversial, theres always you ranting about doing something of a smash or pass tier list OR... idk maybe ask questions about what we like for "specific" stuff like anime characters, movies, video games, etc.). It's more or less you saying what you had that was good or bad, but I think it would be to the point where swearing doesn't fucking matter when it comes to talking about stuff(like the hot topic situation you dealt with). (Note: I had to like edit this 3 times because I always miss hit the button to post the comment, so I'm hoping this is a I just wanted to say.)

2023-11-15 04:02:14 +0000 UTCThat sound is not what I expected at all! I thought you were talking about a soft stress-relief for the hand type of toy - you know, like a soft squishy caterpillar. Not too bad though, don't hesitate to try it out in an audio. As for things being "dragged on"... BUDDY, I play Assassin's Creed; "dragged on" is literally the category for that game series lmao. I can't complain though, I've no idea where the game series would've ended otherwise - probably wouldn't have had some awesome entries (maybe even my favourite one wouldn't have existed had the series been given better writers!) but anyway, I'm getting carried away. I've never actually watched AoT, but I will say that anime has some of the best motherfucking artstyles and character designs I've seen for any animated media. Of course, several main characters have that exaggerated-anime look (large expressive eyes), but most look more human and realistic - especially adult side/background characters. I always admired how Levi is the only character I've seen who actually LOOKS Japanese! XD And that's just the humans, the Titans... oh the Titans. Such a cool concept. The somewhat uncanny/half-cognitive/zombie-like giant naked people sounds funny on paper, but the execution is extraordinarily good! I'm a sucker for monsters and BIG things. The armoured titan (both version-1 and Reiner's incomplete version) is to me one of the coolest monster ideas ever. In fact, I even thought of a Titan OC at some point; a variant of the Beast Titan resembling a bear. I may even draw him at some point to show what I mean! Now, after all that you may be wondering, "Sounds like you'd love it, why don't you watch it?" I don't wish to get into manga or comics (even if they are of something I love; for example Star Wars comics). And I would feel wrong watching an anime without reading the source material. I'm an extremely slow reader too. Remember that Assassin's Creed book I've mentioned several months back? Yep, still reading it. XD I've wrote so much to you. Sorry :'D This doesn't even cover the replies of Twitter. It just piles on. You can divide my comments into chapters! haha Have a wonderful day Ali and every Ali-cat reading!
