Ali Rambles- chatting about anime! :)
Added 2023-07-28 04:24:15 +0000 UTCHello everyone! I hope your week is going well so far~ Tonight I thought it would be fun to chat about some of my favorite anime series. This time I picked titles that may be a little less known than ones I've talked about before. If any of you have an anime that you enjoy or want to recommend feel free to comment :)
I also want to take this time to give a heads up that tomorrow's roleplay is going to be a little weird haha! I mentioned it being a yandere anglerfish. When I make a monster girl, I find it a lot of fun to learn about the animal/creature they are based on. What I learned about female and male anglerfish was...interesting xD So yeah, we will have a parasitic yandere love story tomorrow night! :P
Tomorrow's audio will probably be up late tomorrow night since I have a few things I'm still working on regarding the ambient sounds and audio. I really want to give a creepy, deep ocean vibe ^_^

2023-07-31 02:01:07 +0000 UTCOh ok, that makes a lot of sense. When I was reading the description I couldn't help but think of Megalo box. Thanks for letting me know, that's really cool! :)

2023-07-31 02:00:03 +0000 UTCI agree, I think that's really cool! I haven't seen or read Baki, but I own all the Beastars manga, I really enjoyed it :)

2023-07-31 01:58:01 +0000 UTCLight Yagami vibes? Shit I’m sold now! Death Note is probably one of my favorite manga/anime of all time

2023-07-30 05:01:26 +0000 UTCMegalo box is a reimagining of ashita no Joe that was made to celebrate the 50th anniversary. The original is way better, but it's hard to recommend because it's so old and is more of a character drama than a typical sports anime.

2023-07-30 03:27:48 +0000 UTCYeah, my whole friend group was really devastated when we heard Miura had passed away as he had worked so hard on Berserk and it sucks that he himself wasn't able to see it to it's conclusion. On a more positive note though seeing Paru Itagaki being super successful with Beastars while her father is also creating Grappler Baki is really nice to see. Both of them creating their own stories is rally cool to me.

2023-07-29 23:56:57 +0000 UTCI find comfort in it too! I think those types of stories have a good way of showing us humility and not to take ourselves seriously all the time- which took me a long time to learn haha! xD I will say that despite being an anime snob I can proudly say I've never made fun of what others enjoy- that's always been a big no no for me. I've gotten into a few heated arguments with people for picking on others for stuff like that, not just anime but life in general. If you check out Inuyashiki I hope you like it! :D It has a weird animation, but I promise the story is great! The villain really gave me Light Yagami vibes just not as smart as he was lol. You make a good point about the two season rule! Another big one like that for me was One Piece. That one took more than just a few episodes but I'm really glad I stuck with it all these years later!

2023-07-29 23:55:46 +0000 UTCI'm still confused as to why they didn't animate the ending of the manga- they were already so close and it only has six volumes! ; o ;

2023-07-29 23:44:15 +0000 UTCI'll add it to my watch list, thanks for recommending it! :)

2023-07-29 23:42:16 +0000 UTCThere are a lot of series that I enjoy where something unfortunate happened with the artist, sometimes they get very sick or pass away. It really bums me out when that happens. Not because of wanting to finish the story, but because it's a sad thing when someone's passion gets put on hold or sometimes ends prematurely for things out of their control. It's really amazing to me when I see them come back and get started again though, very inspiring for sure <3

2023-07-29 17:03:24 +0000 UTCYuru camp season 3 is coming soon and I'm super hyped! I also wish Girls last tour got a second season to see the rest of the manga animated, but alas, maybe one day

2023-07-29 13:43:40 +0000 UTCI know the second part of Darker than Black is somewhat divisive for people. It's got a bit of a different vibe than the first part but I still really enjoyed it. Jormundgand also has some really good music so if you do end up watching it, that's something to look forward to. SNAFU is strange, it really hinges on how funny you find an edgy teenager trying to sound really smart lol. For Gangsta i loved both the opening and that part as well! I was always bummed about how short it was but knowing more about the creator over recent years I'm just happy that they seem to be doing better. Also to be 100% I love Welcome to the NHK, but I never want to be in any of the situations in that show. Especially the part with the island lol,

2023-07-29 11:38:34 +0000 UTCI have a feeling you would enjoy Mushishi. Give it a watch when you have the chance.

2023-07-29 11:26:08 +0000 UTCI love Yuru Camp and Girls Last Tour! I haven't tried K-On but the art style looks really cute :) I have some good memories watching Yuru Camp. I remember making curry and eating it when a new episode would come out <3 I've found a few anime from just randomly watching an episode and I ended up really liking them! Some of them being stuff I never would have expected haha!

2023-07-29 07:17:19 +0000 UTCI haven't seen any of those! Rose of Versailles looks familiar, but I know I've never watched it; maybe I saw a picture somewhere in passing. After looking up Ashita no Joe I'm beginning to wonder if Megalo Box is related somehow...or maybe inspired? I really liked that anime so maybe I'll give it a shot if I can find it! :)

2023-07-29 07:11:51 +0000 UTCHaha, I very much related to your comment! I'll admit that it took me a while to get into Attack on Titan for that very reason. I felt like no matter where I went or talked to it would get brought up. I'm glad I gave it a shot though, it's pretty good! Ergo Proxy is another anime I really love. The opening song is amazing as are the characters. I like your comment about the requirement. So long as you entertain me in some way and aren't boring then I'll give you as shot! Oh...This is news to me...Do you mean to say that Taken isn't marketed as a comedy? :P lol

2023-07-29 07:00:11 +0000 UTCI love Haibane Renmei! :) The artist that made Lain did that series as well! I've never watched Mushishi before, but it sounds interesting. I'm usually a big fan of series that play into the episode by episode way of telling a story. It's really neat when each episode can shine on their own.

2023-07-29 06:48:56 +0000 UTCHonestly I kinda find comfort in being reminded how small I am in the grand scheme of things. The thought that I can never truly change anything outside of my personal life choices is strangely empowering. Call it optimistic nihilism I guess. Also I think everyone is entitled to be a snob about something, as long as they don’t shit on people for what they like. I’m honestly snobbish about cocktails, I love mixing drinks and I’ll rant for hours about why pre-mixes and canned cocktails are absolute swill (I’m actually insufferable) I actually got a free 75 days of Crunchyroll so I’ll probably check out Inuyashiki at least. I love gore and asshole characters so it’s probably right up my alley! To be honest my sister has always been the bigger weeb between the two of us, bonafide otaku she is. I’m honestly pretty uncultured when it comes to anime myself actually, so I am in fact the person not knowing what you’re talking about when you bring up Bokurano lol. I do like hearing about what interests you though so it don’t really matter to me if ain’t heard of it. And yeah, I too subscribe to the “three episode rule”. Except for JoJo. JoJo is more like a “two season rule” haha

2023-07-29 06:24:20 +0000 UTCThe opening to Darker than Black is absolutely amazing, I agree 100% with you. Speaking of that anime, I never watched the second part of it. I don't know why because I really loved the first one! Jormundgand has been on my to watch list for years now. I need to stop being lazy and watch it lol. If it's similar to Black Lagoon I already know I'm going to love it. I've never seen Terror in Resonance or My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, so I'll need to look those up- thanks for the recommendations! :) Since this one was on your list, I just have to say that Gangsta is another anime with an opening that is gold. I still remember crying when we learned about one of the MCs stories, that really pulled at my heartstrings. I love the anti-resonated recommendation haha! It's been a while, but I remember really enjoying Welcome to the NHK.

2023-07-29 06:01:51 +0000 UTCI've only ever played the online verses games when it comes to Halo, but a lot of people have told me how good the story is! If my xbox still worked, I'd give it a try but sadly it stopped working a while back :( I remember seeing a funny show that used the models of Halo a while back. I think it was called Red vs. Blue? I remember that being pretty funny lol. I really enjoyed the first part of SAO when it focused on Kirito and Asuna (I think that's her name?) just being together in the game. The later episodes I didn't enjoy as much but I still think it has some cool content that I can appreciate ^_^ Soul Eater was good too! Very nostalgic for me, especially some of the songs. I always loved Soul's design, I'm a sucker for sharp teeth lol. I'm really happy to hear you enjoy my rambles. I like chatting about different things so it makes it even better if it can relax others in the process. I really appreciate everyone's support here as well as twitter and youtube, thank you for that! <3

2023-07-29 05:27:47 +0000 UTCEvangelion is a great series for sure! That's another one I'd really like the manga of some day, love the artwork :) I've seen some things online of Komi Can't Communicate but only watched the first episode, so I don't remember too much. It seemed like a cute series though! I really enjoy the design of Komi, very cute <3

2023-07-29 05:06:23 +0000 UTCWe have pretty much opposite anime taste. I gravitate towards more relaxing, comfy stuff that I can just chill out with, things like Yuru Camp, Girls Last Tour and K-On. Maybe I should step out of my comfort zone a little too and try something different. I'll have to add your recommendations to the backlog!

2023-07-29 03:05:47 +0000 UTCIf you really want to look like an anime snob you should say your favorite anime are rose of Versailles, ashita no joe, and legend of the galactic heroes. Bokurano is mainstream in comparison

2023-07-29 01:56:23 +0000 UTCI have a little bit of hipster in me (I prefer to call it punk), if something is popular then it has a harder time of getting me to like it so I understand the snob. The only thing I require out of any kind of entertainment is to just not be boring, if it can do that then I'm happy. One show that I think about a lot is Ergo Proxy, a cool show that's very philosophical, also mc is a bit of a goth babe. I like darker shows and movies but Most of the time when I want to watch something I want to laugh, that doesn't always mean comedy, I'm of the opinion that the Liam Neeson movie Taken was a comedy.

2023-07-28 20:32:22 +0000 UTCI've heard of Bokurano and Inuyashiki but never checked them out. Don't know if I have any new anime to list off, but based on your list I remember enjoying Mushishi and Haibane Renmei. The latter is about a group of people that are born from cocoons and sprout charcoal feather wings, and we see the life and day of one group of them. It has an uplifting feel for the most part, but there are intense moments. Mushishi is great if you're into episodic stuff, and each episode plays like a classic fairytale from the perspective of Ginko who can see and interact with the ethereal creatures called Mushi.

2023-07-28 13:36:14 +0000 UTCI don't think I've heard of most the shows you mentioned, other than Inuyashiki, so I'll be sure to to check them out if I'm ever looking for something new. I'm going to list a few things below that are all kinda different, I'm not really sure if they are popular or not but I don't see too many people talking about them at the very least. Hope at least one of them appeals to anyone reading this and I tried to keep most of the descriptions short. - Darker than Black - Super heroes kinda but everyone has to pay a price to use them, such as having to consume cigarettes but it becomes too inconvenient to smoke them so the character in question just starts to eat them. It's the show that really got me into anime and it's opening fuckin SLAPS. - Jormundgand - Similar to Black Lagoon but focuses around arms dealers rather than pirates. - Gangsta - Also kinda similar to Black Lagoon but I thought I would bring it up cause you mentioned the author that was having trouble while writing. The creator of this series was hospitalized for a long time and has spoken on her twitter about dealing with lupus while trying to continue as an author. - Terror in Resonance - Terrorism from the terrorists point of view. - Interviews with Monster Girls - Wholesome show about monster girls. For shows that related to me, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is probably the biggest example as it is an anti-romance show. In high school I didn't really like the idea of being in a relationship as high school just has so much fucking drama that I didn't want to deal with lol. So to see a show that has a main character that shares those view was very funny to me even if the main character way more exaggerated than whatever I was thinking at the time. There's also a show I anti-resonated with, Welcome to the NHK has really inspired me to work hard and not become a NEET lol. Also looking forward to learning some cool anglerfish stuff with the next video. I don't know too much about them.

2023-07-28 13:14:42 +0000 UTCOh man these are always a real treat I love your ramble videos they are favorite even though I know I've stated that like 100 times lol. Wow your taste or like your type of anime or genre is basically exactly as mine lol how exciting! I definitely have to check out all the anime you recommend I've always looked for those types of anime but I wasn't sure what was good or what was wasn't I was also like you when I was younger I forget the word you used but I was exactly like that now I'm better and more open minded. But before I got into anime the thing got me into thar gritty sorta dark or I guess also like deeper more meaningful story telling was halo and star wars specifically halo reach which is a video game but to summarize it basically it showed that noble team the Spartans super soldiers who were shown as almost invincible one man/women army are in fact not that they can die in simple and ways not in blazes of glory but with just a single shot and that everything they did was in vien all they did was dely the inevitable it's sorta hard to summarize but also andor a recent star wars show which was basically everything I've ever wanted in star wars and told the story I've been waiting so long for in star wars it's story is slow which not everyone likes but it pays of so well in the end. But I guess the only 2 anime I can sorta recommend are soul eater which really got me interested in anime and sword art online which a lot peole hate but it turned me into an anime fan or enjoyer other then that most of the stuff I've watch is like the generic or nothing unique really but I abousltelty have to check out your recommendations. Also congratulations on getting 500 followers on Twitter and I think it was 8k subscribers on YT super happy your getting more recognition as I think you absolutely deserve it your art style is just good and unique and your also very cool like your ramble videos that give that best friend vibe which is really unique to me and give more i guess personality to you as a content creator idk how to say it lol but I think you get what I'm trying to say

2023-07-28 05:35:01 +0000 UTCEvangelion is a pretty good series... except for when Asuka died... yes I'm being generic, but that had me in tears. Also, to answer the question about resonating mangas. Yes, Komi Can't Communicate, collected the entire series and it was one of the best series that i stumbled across during high school. Ironic how my senior year, I came across an anime that's revolved around high school. In terms of resonating, was more of the sense of relatable aspects.
