Art Preview + Question of the Week! 6

Hello everyone, we're coming up on halfway through our week, just a little more till the weekend :) Some of you may have seen my recent community post on youtube. A family member needed some help with a few things, so my youtube video will be up tomorrow instead. Our patreon Friday upload will still be up on time though- I got everything back on track :D

I thought I would show you all a preview of the character for tomorrow's youtube audio. I finally got around to doing my alchemist idea! This one is very near and dear to me, so I'm really excited to get the audio done.

Now, onto our question of the week. I'm curious to know what your favorite ASMR triggers/tingles are. Are there certain noises, words, or voices you have a preference for? For me, I would say my favorites are glass tapping, book sounds, and typing. I also really love accents when it comes to voices- it doesn't really matter what accent, I just love them when listening to whispers <3

Most of the time I wait to just binge them all. I was going to watch the new season of Ancient Magus Bride weekly but haven't really been in the mood to watch stuff. However me and my friends will have watch parties on discord for some bigger shows and that's where I usually will watch things weekly. That being said though, Call of the Night is still on my list of things to watch and that's nearly a year old at this point. I should really get on that lol.

Tell me about it on needing to catch up on animes lol I have so many that I need to either finish or at least try the first couple of episodes of. Sometimes I end up just waiting until a season is completely finished and then I'll just take a day to binge the whole thing. I really appreciate that about my accent- thank you! I've met a few people that have told me similar things about their own and I make sure to assure them that accents are awesome, and isn't something they should be embarrassed of <3

I am also very hopeful they like it as I have only known this person for like a month lol and they trusted my opinion for whatever reason. Once they told me what they were into TV/Movie wise though it seemed like a better fit than anything I would have recommended. I should really watch it at some point but there's so many other animes I need to catch up on. I also can understand that scissors are likely finicky, I watched a video once where they used like 15 different pairs of scissors and they all sounded different so I imagine not all are going to be winners. Sorry you felt embarrassed enough that you felt you had to train your voice to be different. I never have done anything like that but I've lived in Arizona my entire life so I have known a lot of people that have covered up their southern accent as they were afraid of seeming less intelligent or that they were from the country side. I'm glad though that it doesn't seem to be something you consider bad now, your voice is soothing to listen to and will be even if more of it slips through.

As a matter of fact, my comment was originally suggesting that idea for a future audio, but I edited it cause I didn't want to make requests that you maybe didn't want to do. Since we're on the same page though, that's awesome! I'd be interested in seeing something like that some day.

Fire and rain are really nice sounds. Sometimes I'll find those 10+ hour long videos to fall asleep to. Funny story about accents. One morning my phone rang and I sleepily answered it and a cute British girl started talking, obviously a wrong number situation lol. She started apologizing and I was just like, "No, no, it's ok" Even in my groggy state I thought, 'Omg, I don't know who that was, but she sounded like an angel' xD

I hope your friend enjoys it! :) Brotherhood is good too, but I much prefer the original 2003 anime. It has such nostalgic vibes and I feel like it handled some of the darker story elements better than the new one. Scissor cutting is a trigger I really like too! Speaking from experience though it was not relaxing at all when I used an old pair haha- too many creaky sounds xD I'm ashamed to admit that I was embarrassed of my accent growing up so I kinda "trained" myself out of it. I wish I didn't though because I love meeting people with accents! It still comes out every now and then, especially if I get mad or irritated lol.

Thanks a bunch! FMA vibes accomplished! :D I tried to incorporate some fun alchemy references into the thumbnail as well as the audio. I keep making characters that end up being my favorite, but I have a feeling this one will stay the queen for a little while lol. This character does have some Mommy vibes despite her being a crazy Alchemist haha! I hope you enjoy it! :)

Thank you so much, I appreciate that! They just needed a bit of help moving some things. I'm not that strong, but I was able to help move smaller boxes haha! Thanks also on the views- I couldn't have reached that many without all of you! :D Now that I think about it, I've never done a survey/interview type asmr. I'll try to think of something that incorporates that for a future audio. Maybe a job interview but one where you're not super stressed or nervous lol :P

alichu

Oh, crunchy snow is nice! If I ever get the opportunity, I'll try to record that sometime in the future if possible. I can definitely relate to the paint knife too- so many nights falling asleep watching/listening to Bob Ross. He truly was the ASMR OG

alichu

I really enjoy heartbeat sounds too! I'm looking into some mic extensions to hopefully pick them up better for when I do them again. I've discovered through all my slime/tentacle audios that I actually like that too, which I never thought I'd say lol. I get reluctant to do them because I have a feeling my Eldritch video last time is what Youtube didn't like. Still not sure if it was the audio part of the video or the art since they didn't specify lol Non-English ASMR is really nice too. Like you said, I think my brain just likes to pay attention to the sounds of the words and how they hit the mic. Thanks for letting me know your ASMR likes, this concludes the alichu research questionnaire haha jk! xD

I don't get whatever kind of tingles that asmr is supposed to give you but I really like the sounds of rain, fire, and soft talking. I don't have a preference for accents as I just like hearing them, although I may be partial to country accents(home team advantage). I used to listen to this one french guy who would talk about everything from mythology to history to pottery, it reminded me of when I was young and I'd turn on the history or discovery channel and fall asleep.

I unfortunately don't have much to say about the FMA stuff never watched it myself, however I did recommend it to one of my friends recently who has never seen anime as it seemed to be up there alley from what I do know about it and a lot of my other friends started with it. For triggers I like scratching, ear cupping, painting/pen writing on paper, and scissors cutting something like paper or fake hair. Although I have listened to so much ASMR at this point that I don't really get tingles. I mainly just listen to things that are interesting so roleplays are usually my go to, especially ones with stories. Don't know if you know anyone's like that lol. Speaking of accents tho, I didn't even notice you had one till the detention story, but I've noticed it a bit more in your old card opening videos and the dot hack video now.

I really love her design she gives off so many full metal alchemist vibes! The eyes are so cool along with her outfit! Keyboard typing has always been a trigger that I love. I find that gaming keyboards give off a super relaxing clicking noise that I just love! For voices it’s definitely the soft calm voices that win me over point example is Alichu’s perfect voice! Motherly voices are also awesome especially in scenarios where they are praising the listener with positive affirmations after having a bad day!

Holy fridge. That red really popped out of my screen. Pretty lady! Nice work. By the way, congrats on 500k views on your channel! My favourite ASMR triggers are glass-tapping and typing as you said. But also I really enjoy listening to close ear whispering - like a full on quiet whisper; no tone in the voice. I also really love being asked questions in a survey/interview type way. I'm glad to hear things are going well. I hope your family member is getting on alright! Send them our love too, whoever is a friend or family of Ali is a friend of us <3

Looking forward to this audio already, she looks like a bundle of fun. My favourite triggers are quite specific but some of them are clipboard writing, walking on crunchy snow, stone mortar and pestles and the sound of a paint knife on a pallette (thanks to Bob Ross for that one)

codytachi

She must be quite the alchemist if she already has the philosopher’s stone! Knowing that you’re an FMA fan I’m not surprised you’re excited about this one! As for my personal favorite triggers it’s tough to say, my favorites change depending on whether or not we’re talking soothing relaxation or actually looking to experience ASMR tingles. If we’re going with the most soothing sounds for me then tapping, ear cleaning/fluffy sounds, and heartbeats are my favorite. The ones that give me the most tingles though would have to be like, really close whispers, scratchy noises, and any sort of mouth sounds/oil massage. I totally get the accent thing too, accents are almost always plus for me in ASMR. I also really love ASMR that isn’t in English as well. When I can’t understand what’s being said, my brain isn’t listening to and processing the words. In that way, it’s only thinking about how the words feel hitting the mic, so it kinda boosts my sensitivity to the triggers a little bit. Truth be told I’m actually not very sensitive to ASMR, so experiencing tingles isn’t always a guarantee for me in any given ASMR video. Because of that, it’s always a nice surprise when a video does manage to trigger ASMR for me
