Question of the week! 3

Happy Wednesday everyone! We're halfway to Friday, yay! I hope everyone has had a good week so far. For me, my sleep schedule has been kicking my ass lately xD I'm currently trying my best to get it back on track.

The question of the week this time is: Favorite band, music group, or songs?

My go to is usually metal, alternative, and emo but I love listening to all types of music! If I had to pick two, my top choices would be Static X and Bring Me The Horizon. Let me know your faves and I'll see you on Friday with a double upload; one for Patreon and one on Youtube :D

Comments

I'm ashamed to admit that I've never watched Card Captor Sakura despite it being such a classic series. I'll need to take some time to watch it. I did listen to the song though and it was great! It gave me such nostalgic vibes of those old anime songs that I love <3 As for the Turkish Bath song, I really enjoyed that! The entire time I couldn't help but picture scenes of Cowboy Bebop haha!

alichu

I can't definitely relate! I was born in the 90s too but have a love for 80s music, especially The Smiths and Depeche Mode. I will say, both of those songs are great! Classics for sure <3

alichu

Favorite song? This is always a hard choice for me but I'm going to go with a song called catch you catch me in card captor sakura. While I'm not far into the series (episode 2) I have been jamming to it a lot recently. Besides that, there is a really cool song called Turkish Bath by the Don Ellis orchestra that a friend recommended to me and let's just say: I love it!

Logical Onion [First Hatched]

Sorry for the late answer! Well, I was born in the 90s but my love for music is stuck in the 80s give me any rock or pop song from that era and I can easily listen or sing a long to it! For me my favorite band would have to be Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with there two hits “Won’t back down” and “Free Falling”!

Vince

Very nice! I had never heard of Ken Ashcorp before, so I had to give them a listen. I really enjoyed "Crazy Chicks" lol xD Thanks for sharing, it's nice finding more artists to enjoy! As for rock/rap, have you ever heard Hollywood Undead? Absolutely love "Gravity" and "Everywhere I Go" by them!

alichu

That’s Awesome! I’m so glad you liked it 😁

thegrashoper

Glad you enjoyed it, I really haven't heard anything else that captures their kind of style. Seeing them live is on my bucket list!

codytachi

Damn, hard to choose just one for me! I’m a lover of music in pretty much all its forms. Since I can’t even begin pick a favorite artist I’ll just say the ones I’ve found myself listening to the most recently: that’d be Thousand Foot Krutch, Ken Ashcorp, and Demondice. Been on a bit of a rock/rap kick in general the past month or so.

Secular Succotash

Agreed black parade is incredible especially after watching wendigoons video on it but danger days is my favorite.

Sir Skelington

Glad you enjoyed reading it! I agree about "Nobody", I love when any band does something unique for their music videos, they did something similar with the music video for "The Stage". Same with like anime openings like Beastars or Desert Punk. For Man With a Mission it was actually the opposite, I found out about Inuyashiki because of "My Hero". That song slaps so hard! I originally found Man With a Mission from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans with "Raise Your Flag". Finally, thank you for the welcome!

JokermanTalon

I really enjoyed reading all the music you like. We seem to have similar taste so right on! :D I have to say, that new song "Nobody" by Avenged Sevenfold really blew me away with the video, it was absolutely stunning. I'm curious if you found Man With a Mission through the anime Inuyashiki? I really enjoyed that series. I also want to say welcome to my Patreon, it's really nice to have you! ^_^

alichu

Sir Skelington, bro last year I started listening to MCR at like more than a surface level and I also really loved Destroya and Vampire money. I was surprised by how many people I knew only talked about The Black Parade in High School, which is fair as it's a great album, but no one was mentioning Danger Days

JokermanTalon

I listen to too much music frankly to have any concise answer lol. For like regular music I really enjoy Avenged Sevenfold, Pantera, and Starset. I also really enjoy music from video games and really enjoy NAOKI (Guilty Gear Franchise) and Masayoshi Soken (Final Fantasy 14 primarily). And finally Japanese bands that I found through Anime is Man With a Mission, ALI, and Hiroyuki Sawano. Music is probably the biggest thing in my life so I could go on and on, but I think that's pretty much the big ones. Plus seeing all the nice responses from everyone has given me even more things to check out.

JokermanTalon

I love Fair to Midland! I always felt that band deserved more recognition, the lead singer's vocals are insane! Avatar is good too. I still remember listening to "For The Swarm" before going into one of my shifts at my old job xD

alichu

Everyone here putting up some amazing music. Now I gotta think about my answer carefully. I have to many favorite artists, but if I had to pick It would be Avatar and Fair to Midland. Both bands have a crazy amount of range in their vocals.

Phosphophyllite

Yep! Great song, Elvenking is my happy place band, always puts a smile on my face after I listen to them.

craig

My first song choice to listen to was "Teeth" since I'm a big Beastars fan and I loved it! I'm going to give some other stuff of theirs a listen too, thank you for sharing! :D

alichu

No prob. Glad you liked them.

Kai Zomei

I had never heard of Elvenking so I looked them up- no regrets! I listened to the song "Elvenlegions" I believe it was called and that was bad ass! :D

alichu

Thank you for sharing this band! This is my first time hearing of them and so far I'm really enjoying the songs I've listened to. I bet seeing them live is crazy in the best way. Something about their vibe makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :D

alichu

Very nice! I had never heard either of these artists until reading your comment. I listened to a few things from both and I have to say I really enjoy the music and beats of both! Thanks for sharing! :D

alichu

Trip to Valhalla was also my first! I like your open-mindedness :)) I love 'Reptile', Skrillex was the artist who introduced me to tearout/brostep. If you're into that stuff, Mendum have experimented with some rockstep through their songs 'Save Myself' and 'Red Hands'. As well as some post-rock like 'Forgotten'. Considering you like rock/emo, maybe they're worth a jab whenever you're bored. I had a listen to Static X, seems like their band went through some change; classic 2000s into something slightly different today. Pretty cool stuff, I do like 'Terminator Oscillator'. Agh, I'm such a music fanatic, I can talk about this all day. But I don't wanna drag this on. Thanks for the talk, cool to see someone take interest in my music taste! Until Friday's double upload!

Artilleries

Oh, very nice! I checked them out and that singer is great. It's bugging me because I feel like I've heard them before and I can't remember where. If they haven't done a song for an anime they need to!

alichu

I'm not too familiar with Jazz groups, but I listened to some of Snarky Puppy just now and that was really impressive. I love how all those instruments came together, really good stuff! Tycho sounded really nice too. Thanks a bunch for sharing those! :)

alichu

Both of those songs are great but it's impossible for me to pick just one so I'll list some of my favorites: The End, Cancer, Mama, Teenagers, Helena, Cemetery Drive, The world is ugly, Bulletproof Heart, Destroya, and Vampire money.

Sir Skelington

I'm really looking forward to BMTH's new song coming out soon! "Lost" is what I think it's called. So when I searched Dr Peacock I obviously listened to "Trip To Valhalla" first and that shit was awesome! Have you ever heard Skrillex's song "Reptile"? I have a feeling you may like it! I hope you and your friend have fun at the event, I'm sure it will be a lot of fun :)

alichu

Your choices tell me that you have wonderful taste in music! As a fellow punk/emo kid your favorites really spoke to me. I have to know what your favorite MCR song is. My favorite would probably have to be "I'm Not OK" or "Famous Last Words"

alichu

Ok, I just listened to "STFU" by ANNISOKAY and that song was awesome. Thanks for sharing, I always love when I find new music to listen to! :D

alichu

Metal, Alternative! Go listen to Aviators, most music based around different Video games nowadays. I’ve followed him for a long time and love his style fs

thegrashoper

Yeah that one's a banger, I also really like Public House and Rise Again

codytachi

Favorite band is probably Megadeth, then Immortal and Elvenking. I somehow became an unironic metal elitist and can't listen to anything else

craig

My favorite song by cherry cokes is hibana

cloudberrybob

My all time favourite band is The Cherry Coke$, a Japanese folk-punk band. Beautifully unique sound and style, I mean I've no clue what they're singing but it's a good vibe nonetheless.

codytachi

Tough question. I pretty much listen to anything that pleases my ears but my favorite artists are Don Toliver or Carti.

Shogun

My favorite band is a j-rock band called ALIA. They have a super unique style that's a mix of rock with violin and electronic, and the singer brings a ton of energy to every song!

cloudberrybob

I'm into music like Jazz, Funk, Electronica/Lofi (very vibe Techno music), and maybe some pop. One of my favorite jazz groups is Snarky Puppy; been a big fan of Earth, Wind, and Fire; and an old favorite of electronica for me is Tycho. One of my favorite songs being September.

Kai Zomei

MCR ❤ What that says about you; is that you're awesome.

Artilleries

I have you and my goth friend to blame for my recent emo-emergence with BMHT. 🤣 But I also recently explored some frenchcore. My friends and I are going to a hardstyle event very soon so we decided to 'try' some of that fast-pace EDM. Long story short; we're in love with Dr Peacock (the artist we'll see). Unlike my friends though, I've always been into EDM. My favourite artists would have to be Mendum and Electro-Light.

Artilleries

I like all kinds of music, If I had to pick my favorite genre it would have to be punk, specifically 90s punk Sum 41 and The Offspring. I think my favorite band would have to be MCR though, I don't care what this says about me lol, also I've been listening to a lot of Billy Idol.

Sir Skelington

Oh, I really like metal, this is my favorite! I like Wildways, also BMTH, ANNISOKAY, Versus Me, and now I listen some Phonk too. Oh Lord, double upload, so much waiting for this! Have a nice day ●︿●
