And Other Duties As Required pt2 - Additional Status Updates.

Hello everybody!

I hate to say it, but there's one more delay on this one. It will be up on Sunday the 20th.

I'll be honest - I was on track to have this done for this weekend, but then I went and added like, two more sex scenes. They really tie everything together, but now everything's gotten even longer.

Right now I'm close to finishing, but it needs one more pass and then a slather of polish. I'm making good progress with the former, but even at 8 pages a day, it's taking its time. The current word count is 22,356, and I'm on track to hit 25,000 by the time it's done. 

The lesson to take away from this is that I should have split this one into two. I was a little worried that pacing would have been weird if I cut it at the obvious point but now I'm seeing that one half would be16,000 and the other would be 9,000 which is acceptable, I suppose. The next section has a similar pacing, so I'll see if I can hedge things off and split it early. I really do hate to keep you all waiting.

Some good news though! As you may be aware, I've been doing a 'thing a day' challenge all this year. My challenge for December is a writing collaboration with a bunch of other writers on the discord. We're all writing short stories with a swap/remote/device theme. The big challenge for me going to be actually keeping things short, but this means you can expect a short (6,000 word)  bonus story from me (The Device - A Beach Story) some time in January. If things go well I may do more of them in the future.
