Developer Update - 9/14/2024

Hey guys! A day late I know, I was gone for the majority of the day yesterday and wasn't home until nearly midnight so I was unable to release this on Friday as I had intended, but better late than never!

We've progressed quite significantly on the artwork front for the game showcasing all the new artwork that has been done the last week in the content update post for today, with this new Kate sprite that you see here a slightly toned down version of the one shown in the content update.

But with all these new sprites and jumping from an average of 5 expressions per sprite for our main cast to 24 expressions adds a lot more room for the characters to well... express themselves in the dialog.

So work for the past week and likely the rest of the time during this month we'll be updating the early events for the Bakery with the new expressions, this should also alleviate Lisa looking freaked out a little too often in her early events with her updated Question/Confused expression.

We'll also have the demo build of the game updated on the first of October with bug fixes and some art additions. Updates for the demo version of the game will still be happening as we find bugs in the first half of the game and update the artwork still remaining in that section.

So don't worry those of you who're playing the game for free you'll still have more updates coming your way and likely more frequently now that the "Public Version" is no longer apart of the main development cycle.

What are your thoughts on the Content + Developer Update format every week? Do you prefer it this way?

Additionally, I'd like to share a couple of fun screenshots dealing with some bugs we encountered while updating the sprites.
 Here the new sprite layering system we added Keith into wasn't able to locate his expressions so we were presented with the lovely "Slenderman" version of Keith.

 And here is Kate when we were testing her new sprites. We forgot to downscale her sprite from her original 4K file and so we're met with Amazon (Or maybe Giantess would be a better term...) Kate when entering the cafe.
