New risky move

Those who have been supporting me for a long time know that I am somewhat "unpredictable". I mean, one moment I do illustrations, then I do comics (colored manga), then I do animations.

One might think that I have no "artistic identity", that I move from one artistic discipline to another, that I'm constantly experimenting to see if I can find "the place where I belong". The truth is that I do.

But despite all that "randomness" that makes me unpredictable, there is a clear pattern...

I will make animations

The last comic I published (Pink Bodycon, in full color) was a huge failure. It caused me great frustration.

I already tried with high quality illustrations, comics (in black and white, and also in color); now I want to try something new: animations.

I had done animations before, but I did them without any knowledge of animation. Now I'm going to start learning animation so I can make better and better quality animations.

Pink Bodycon 01 COLORED (pics + .CLIP file)

A year ago, in May 2022, I published this same comic, which was an (unexpected) success. The success was such that it brought me out of my near bankruptcy and I started to invest more in my artistic career.

Right now I'm going through a difficult time, so to improve my situation I'll resort to that old comic I did last year, but improving it and giving it color.

Sorry for not being communicative these last few days, let's just say I was dealing with personal matters.

This is the sequel I promised a year ago. The same client who commissioned me for part 1 asked that this time it be in a single panel illustration format with alternate versions.

With this I have already fulfilled my part of the deal of bringing you one quality illustration per month, the other drawing could be finished next week (most likely in early November).

Current projects

To be honest, now I'm starting to get paranoid about uploading my sketches and WIPs. With this AI thing, a new (and more sophisticated) mode of art theft has been created: Having an AI autocomplete a human artist's sketch.

This is a special moment for me, a turning point.

Until last month, I used to work with a Wacom Intuos S (one of the cheapest digitizer tablets on the market, which was small and lacked a screen).

In the middle of this July, I made a risky bet: I bought a Wacom Cintiq 16 (digitizing tablet with screen, the cheapest Cintiq model on the market).

The problem with Mimori, is that she has only one joke (buttcrush). So I decided to explore the character more, to discover other potential jokes.

Instead of using cel-shading, I used soft-shading because I realized that soft-shading brings out more volume and round shapes. Mimori has very round legs and buttocks.

The scenery is still simple, I didn't make the same mistake of drawing detailed scenery when I did the Twintailed Girl comic.

I'm still learning and experimenting ...

I'm already working on the new manga, with Mimori as the main character.

I know she has only one joke: buttcrush. So I started to think of other ways to explore this character than just buttcrush.

My deadline is June 29, so I have about 2 weeks.

My last comic was a success

I didn't expect that Pink Bodycon comic to be so well received. This encourages me to keep working on comics.

Now, I am thinking about making a new comic for this month of June. In a few days I will give you a preview. I've gained enough experience to know what I should and shouldn't do.

This manga is an attempt to make simpler and more straightforward works, like the ones Kanahebi did on his pixiv account (have you noticed that Kanahebi frequently made manga of only 3 pages?).
