This is a long one so I hope you have some time to spare.
Alright, we've got some new mechanics and a new system to talk about, as well as some other things.
Some of you on Discord may have been there when we were discussing the personality of the MC and how it should develop further to improve the gaming experience, we eventually came up with the idea to have clubs the player can join, which will allow you, the player, to pick between one of three personalities for the MC. Now, this isn't something that just says she's: "X Personality" this a pretty big change as the personality will change the dialogue for a very large majority of the scenes. So if you have an Active and Cheerful personality then the MC will have more confidence in her dialogue as opposed to a Shy character. This is a ton of work we have to do to get this implemented to a point we feel comfortable releasing, which is why we may delay the 0.5 release beyond the end of the month.
Now the clubs what can we do with them besides just a personality pick?
Club meetings are held on the weekends and are completely optional. Each club will have multiple events take place in them just like walking around, we'll have new side characters (Other Club members) introduced through it, and the clubs will sometimes trigger special events in other areas of the game such as being invited to a track meet at another school. You can decide to go to this through the Walk Around or through other means. It's all up to you. Lastly, each club will have its own unique route which will begin near the end of the school year (End of the game) if you haven't locked in another route by then, but we are FAR off from reaching that point.
What are the clubs that we can pick from?
The club for the Shy personality is still in dispute, but here's what we have so far.
Track - Active, Outgoing, Cheerful
Cheer - Slutty, Girly, Naughty
(Literature, Yearbook, Band, Art: One's we have so far to decide between.) - Shy, Low self-esteem, Unsure
Okay, now about that new system I mentioned.
A phone mechanic, (The code has been in the game, but we're still testing it) a phone has been mentioned a few times in the dialogue, and we've tested what we have so far. We still have a bit to figure out about it, and then we have to implement it into our Condition Engine. Our current plans with the phone for 0.5 is to allow events to take place using the phone, like a conversation with Violet, Matt, or even one of your co-workers or bosses at work, but they will be forced events, and we would like to, later on, have a deeper functionality with it, such as being able to navigate through menus in it, and bringing it up when you want. I'm afraid we may have to hire another programmer for that. The Phone also allows for some sexy selfies to take place and many more things, including adding it in with the Hypnosis Route that's planned.
A few other changes to the game
The stats. We will definitely be considering a rework of the entire stats system, we are currently considering merging the Lust and Corruption stat into just corruption and rework the corruption gain, and the events that unlock certain dialogue or choices using it. This will need a lot of testing to determine the appropriate amount gained through certain events. Another thing is the Hunger stat, when we added this we were going to have it be the start of a few other self-care mechanics in the game like Bathing, Grooming, or Masturbation, now the hunger stat is in limbo as we are deciding whether to either expand upon it or cut it entirely. This decision will most likely come down to a poll this month for you guys to decide what we should do with it.
There are many other things that do need work in the game, like the U.I, but this is what we can address now.
