Coming in late, but puzzles!

2025-03-23 23:13:57 +0000 UTCpuzzles, games, riddles (and encounters) Firstly, there is a glut of everything else listed. Especially with "classes, feats, mechanics" because non-GM players don't buy stuff. Secondly, puzzles, games, and riddles are hard to do. NPCs, monsters, items... thats all narrative. I can do that in my sleep. A crunchy puzzle takes a lot of time to write up. Thirdly, i added encounters because combat takes up the majority of time in 5e compatible games. So more variations in combat. I'm trying to remember to add environment effects. Like is the sun in your eyes? How strong is the wind and in what direction? Height difference, like make a climbing check for an expertise die on ranged attacks. Or pushing enemies can do fall damage. Other skill challenges, like fighting in stealth to avoid waking the too powerful to fight monster. Or intimidation rolls to keep the enemy mooks out of the fight... and so on. This is already more than i intended to write.
