Denizens of the Tower! In The Way of the Desert, the characters embark on a desert quest to reach four ancient goblinkind dungeons. Along the way, many people and NPCs join the characters on a caravan ride from the capital to the city of Darkmoor, the second-largest settlement in the Scalding Duchy. Alas, a terrible threat looms over this journey as an ineffable weather event unleashes the energy of the sun to scourge the barren dunes.
The scalding sun, a momentary increase in the sun's potency that forces creatures to seek shelter, occurs three times in the same day. The characters, their caravan companions, and a throng of refugees struggle toward the east to reach shelter in Darkmoor. Only their resilience and resolve can help them overcome this arcane threat. Will they survive?
Unique goblin variants and desert creatures are part of this adventure. Statblocks for these new monsters are available for D&D 5e and Shadowdark RPG. You can find them in the regional release of The Scalding Duchy here.
