684 The Lost Ark - Level-0 Gauntlet

In the Lost Ark, a motley crew of peasants looking to change their station follow a dubious character known as Lord Hendrick. He claims to have found a mighty religious relic from the past. It is known as the Lost Ark. The journey takes the characters to a vault surrounded by sand dunes in Golla Desert. It is there that Lord Hendricks reveals his colors and attempts to imprison the peasants.
In this level-0 Shadowdark gauntlet adventure, the group of peasants is meant to serve as a ritualistic sacrifice devised to crack open the lid of the Lost Ark. They may be brought there as prisoners or they may come after breaking free of their bounds. Either way, both Lord Hendrick and the characters shall learn that tinkering with the relics of the bygone world is a dangerous affair best left alone.
This adventure has been designed for Shadowdark RPG through their 3rd party license. The system is meant to be accessible to OSR players and modern players alike. Adapting the material to 5e or other systems should not be difficult.
