Are the Characters Worthy of Wielding the Three Legendary Blades?

Merry Holidays Traveler! The adventure of The Three Blades tells the tale of Navi, Avini, and Dirannia. Three elvish warriors of yore who wielded legendary blades. Many centuries ago, these three heroes changed the outcome of many wars and the fate of the world. But the day came for them to rest and surrender the power of their blades. They traveled west like elvish tradition dictates and their powerful weapons were kept in a guarded vault.

The spirits of the warriors live in the steel of the blades still. They shall challenge all those who wish to brandish the swords. The characters must overcome these trials and prove themselves worthy. If they do, the blades are theirs to change the world. Otherwise, they either become eternal puppets bound by duty to the elves; forced to guard the blades. Or they flee like cowards; proving they can never be worthy of such power.

Here's a close-up of the swampy area outside of the swamp thing's lair and the first underground chamber where a bush of luminescent fungi provides dim light.

The large, damp chamber contains a shallow pond connected to an underground waterways system. The swamp thing emerges from one of these ponds to protect its lair and secure an easy meal. Will the characters be a problem to it?
