I think money will talk regarding properties like the Sims, I feel that the current fanbase probably wouldn’t be accepting of a rebrand (though they swallow everything else tbf). Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for the countless studios trapped in the EA machinery that will inevitably be sold off soon; considering how many companies EA has done this exact thing to there’s a real poetic irony to it.
At the end of the day, I can’t remember the last EA game I played. It will continue its slow decline into just making the same 3 games each year and hopefully the teams and studios involved can capitalise on a gap in the market.

I used to be a big BioWare fan. Obviously they’ve gone downhill from their heyday. But while Veilguard wasn’t good, it was better than I expected given how it was basically three different games stitched together. I would have liked to see them get a chance to make a proper game. I’ll be sad to see them go, but even worse would be to see them hollowed out by culture war dirtbags.
