I was let go from Xbox a few months ago, and I don't think it was a coincidence that my work was mainly focused on databases which powered Moderation software. Of course, I have no proof of this, but I did get the feeling that less importance was being given to my work, which was literally helping keep online communities more diverse by filtering out hate speech, toxicity, etc. And I did get the strong feeling as well that the way companies are bending over to please the current administration had something to do with it. BTW, I worked remotely from Canada. I'm not even in the USA!
