Happy New Year!

Let's kick things off the right way with Yahtzee's Best, Worst and Blandest of 2024!

Agreed. I knew Yahtzee didn't like it but I was pretty surprised to see it on the title card. Definitely feels like there were a lot worse games than that this year. Even his description in the video made it sound more bland than bad

I really liked the newest Zelda. I could have seen it more on the blandest list than bad. I’d have agreed with that being understandable, but I don’t think it was a bad game.

I live in Seattle. I was giddily looking forward to Pacific Drive. And .. dunno .. just didn't sync with it. Which, oddly, left me feeling disappointed with myself. Like when someone gives you gift they'd clearly spent endless effort lovingly crafting just for you and you can't even force a smile and say thank you.

Sean Laverty

I love that Pacific Drive made the top slot. The point about it being the one you want to replay most out of everything else is spot on.

Star Wars: Outlaws has it share of problems, but I don't think it falls into being another cookie cutter Ubisoft formula game. Assassin's Creed, Farcry, and watchdogs have gotten Ubisoft this reputation from having too many cluttered icons on HUD, expanding the map from towers, and maps that are overly big. None of these apply to Outlaws, the icons are used sparingly, and the maps are not overly big with cluttered icons. The main character is painfully bland though, and the story itself is lacking in direction, but those faults are not part of the Ubisoft formula problem

Crypmaster evaded my attention this year, but I will check it out. I also like word games a lot; I enjoy reading books thoroughly and will make time to look up words in the dictionary from them. Word games let me flex my vocabulary. Although it's to the point no one in my friend circle wants to play Scrabble with me anymore... so Crypmaster seems like a good way for me to get that fix.
