I'll be honest. It was you, Mr. Croshaw, that brought me joy in watching a game review. Started with seeing the review of Psychonauts at a friend's house (and promptly receiving a copy of the ps2 version from said friend), and although I've kind of dropped off of watching them on the Escapist, I'm glad to see you're back, and I'll be watching a lot more. Any show that picks you up is worth the money spent, so of course I had to support Second Wind. I hope to see many more of these. starting from the beginning :)

I remember watching the first couple ZP videos when they first came out and went viral and “Fully Ramblomatic” being Yahtz’s website. That makes the name of this show such a satisfying deep cut that connects all the way back to the beginning. Very happy to support this new venture.

Heyo! Been a fan of escapist for years, so had to support this after what happened. Glad to hear this is fully employee owned and independent, its terrible that you were forced into such a position but it seems like this is really the only way to go if you don't want to end up a soulless money-printer. What always attracted me to Yahtzee is things like lack of scores and attention to detail on all the different aspects of the game, so its nice to see this hasn't changed. Quite liked the video presentation as a whole, the updated art-style gives it a feel of new while holding onto the best elements of the old. Really looking forward to seeing if/how the doggy gets incorporated! For the background colors, I liked how the transitions occurred (or at least it seemed to me) as the review transitioned sections. Started off red for initial thoughts, went beige for plot summary, green for game mechanics, blue for combat, then back to red for Finish. It seemed like a good way to introduce transitions. At the same time I would have no problems if y'all ended up going with something different or tried out different structures for the reviews over time or whatever. Since this is still a newish venture I imagine things will change up at first as everyone adjusts to the more creative freedom this affords. All in all very much looking forward to the future of all this! Super excited to see where this all ends up!

Been watching ZP since middle school(2009/-10-ish). Was never interested in supporting the Escapist due to it being to corporate. However now that you have gone independent I will 100% support! Love the episode!

Couldn't agree more about the PSA at the end. A foolish consistency and all that, but more importantly: one thing Yahtzee has been unwavering in is sincerity, whether wrapped in wankery and wordplay or not, and it's a delight to have it in this form factor too.

I love red but agree it does clash in ways that sound like they will be addressed. The other thing it brings to mind is that maybe the colored backgrounds should be less... random(?) and more tied to a certain mood or tone (red = mad/rant, beige = neutral/serious, blue = sardonic/joke, etc.)? Otherwise, I'm glad the intro/outro are no longer mixed to be ear-splittingly louder than the actual video. I also liked the rebellious, and sincere, PSA at the end and would love to see this (occasionally?) played with as some kind of feature/gag uniquely distinct to Fully Ramblomatic.

As an avid watcher of ZP since 2007, I am so glad we still get to hear from YZ. I fully support and commend the walkout in solidarity with Nick but worried it would be the end of ZP. I was considering becoming a supporter so I could get the ZP eps with swearing uncensored but then Gamurs shat the bed so I became a patron of Second Wind instead!

So I have watched Yahtzee's 2D stick figure, humorous critiques for longer than I care to remember and although I watched countless hours of content I was not moved to subscribe ect (I rarely do). Good first go everyone! I got feedback for future Fully Ramblomatic (From a guy whose been watching since the original ZP Youtube videos, if that matters) Primarily, I found a lot of the extra details on the characters and the background distracting. Stuff like the buttons on Yahtzees shirt, the gears on the background, and even just how everyone now has eyes + frames instead of just eyes. It makes the scenes more work to take in, and the sudden cuts more jarring as you have to reprocess a lot more information each time, and screws with the sort of "Flow" that ZP always had. I'm guessing that a lot of this is to make FR "resemble but legally distinct..." from ZP, in which case I'll take it as a growing pain. But if there isn't a legal reason why, is it possible to spend the first several episode experimenting with the animation and art? Side question: Is Yahtzee still doing all the animation himself, or does he have someone else do it?
