Carl Sagan believed we are transcended from dinosaurs in his book The Dragons of Eden which in essence means dog eat dog. There is barbarism in our DNA and an animal instinct to fight over territory. The advancements in technology give a false illusion we have evolved more than we have. Tools, what separates us from the animals may ironically lead to a mass extinction of humankind as A.I. takes over.

2023-11-12 19:50:36 +0000 UTCWars are always bad. No matter whether in Vietnam, the First World War or the Second World War. It should also not be forgotten that every soldier has to follow orders. Of course, that doesn't justify all the deaths or what was done to people. Nevertheless, soldiers are only human and they have all seen bad things. I don't think the soldiers in World War II enjoyed what they did. This leaves traces that will never go away. I knew many who were deployed in Iraq and they never recovered from it.
