Wow, lots of misunderstood character motivations in this reaction. Thinking sending her kid away to safety on the bus was a bad idea, instead of her son staying with her, since she had to do her duty helping people as a medic in the most dangerous area. And it's funny how they never noticed any of the times Godzilla stopped itself from hurting humans by diving into the water, not damaging the aircraft carrier and protected the people, stepping in front of missiles that were going to hit the kids, etc. Godzilla is mankind's protector. The mystery of why or to what degree he's intentionally doing it is part of the allure of the fiction. He's like a mysterious Monster Superhero, lol.
