The book is about the actual war, the remnants of NATO and other large militaries regrouping on large islands out in the Pacific, then slowly invading the mainland USA (to start), methodically retaking every inch of land we lost to the zombies. It's amazing. The movie is just stupid and shares virtually no plot points with the book. Sickness makes you immune? Moronic!

It was pure fiction, written by a white lawyer who made everything up to increase sales. The text at the end of the movie is also a fabrication. That said, I still love it and have watched it around 10 times!

Also historical as it takes place during the American civil war late 1800s. Costner abandons the northern army and befriends and joins a Native American tribe.

Boogie nights doesnt really have teeth and half of these films are very uniquely american humor that aren’t really going to translate well. It's an amazing movie overall, but you won't really get some of the heart/emotion of the movie if you watch it not knowing anything about that.
