Your hatred of Ragnar is really bizarre. I guess it's a modern woman's perspective where being cheated on is the worst thing ever. A more realistic perspective is to view things through the context of the time. Life is immensely hard and survival and family is of utmost importance. As long as children are produced, especially males to protect and provide for the clan and they survive the harsh Viking life, that's all that matters. Infidelity, especially by high status men is inconsequential.

2023-03-07 07:17:45 +0000 UTCThe slaughter of the town is not Ragnar and Rollo's fault, it's King Horik's fault for going back on his agreement with Earl Borg. TBH it's so weird you hate Ragnar so much, all he did is sleep with another beautiful woman. he's the hero of the story and has suffered and endured much to get to where he is. Lagertha left Ragnar which was pretty selfish considering the effect a split family would have on Bjorn.

2023-03-07 07:15:24 +0000 UTCComing from a family with parents that divorced and remarried, and going to family gatherings with my parents and their new spouses: Life goes on, people forgive eachother for past indiscretions and try to get along for the sake of the kids. Life and love is complicated. We all make mistakes. Ragnar has a weakness and did his first wife wrong, but he is also a great and loving father. Lagertha may be angry with Ragnar, but her son still loves his father and it is hard not to forgive for his sake.

Every character will do things you don't agree with or like at one point or another. It's this fact that they all have flaws that makes them even better characters to me.
