They are two American sisters from Las Vegas that do very professional level productions of parodies every year or so. They actually shot all the exterior scenes on location of the actual sites in Stranger Things.

Stephen King wrote a novel in 1980 called "Firestarter" about a girl born with the ability to start fires with her mind, born to parents who both participated in a government study where the subjects were given drugs to see if they could have powers. The father could make people see things with his mind, and got nosebleeds when he used his power. The book was turned into a movie in 1984 with Drew Barrymoore.
