2021-01-28 05:15:17 +0000 UTCNot sure if Ellie reads these but yeah, the scene where Walt Jr tries to get a guy to buy beer is a fairly common thing for teenagers to do in the US. It's pretty much impossible for anyone under 21 to buy alcohol unless maybe they have a good fake ID. I think most of the time teens have a less risky hookup like a big brother or older friend who will buy it for them. Many Americans don't think it's a big deal... others are uptight about it.. but at the end of the day it's a very strictly enforced law that could land the store clerk in jail and cause the business to lose their license to sell alcohol.

There was an episode of The X-Files in the first season called "The Erlenmeyer Flask."
