Haha, passive aggressive much? Dumb arguments and logical fallacies won't get you far honey. But continue speaking your truth into the internet ether, it's so cute.

I’ll just ignore Mr. Pharisee since he’s more worried about name calling than murder. Talk about straining a gnat and swallowing a camel... worthless hypocrite.

Present a cogent argument and give legitimate rebuttals. Or are these concepts so foreign to you that they're "mumbo jumbo"? This is sad...

Not sure why you can't find the correct reply button, you just clog up the feed with separate replies. Right, then don't believe me about my ethnic background, your choice. Why would I lie about it for the sake of an argument with you though? Should I assume you're lying about your own heritage then? What a silly assertion you made, that all people of an ethnic heritage should apologize for actions perpetrated by a government/military. And relying on "whatabout-isms" as if people can't be angry about more than just what's happened outside their ethnic heritage, for shame. You must have a low opinion of people's capacity for empathy regardless of social construct. I can see you're just trolling, how sad.

I don't know how you know what is happening. Do you realize that you talked through about 80% of the episode - about nothing?

Enough mumbo jumbo rambling. Some people just love the sound of their fatuous virtue signaling.

Yeah right. 😏Sure you are. You ought to apologize for the Rape of Nanking, then. Why aren’t you upset about that? Or is name calling worse than bayoneting babies? Shouldn’t you go on a long-winded apology tour for that? Or is your MO simply grievance mongering?

Context matters. It is when these words are attached to ideas and concepts that uphold racial bias that they are not acceptable. We could do without the political tribalism please, thank you.

I agree with Ellie’s logic. If white or black is not racist, then why is yellow racist? I’m half Asian and it doesn’t bother me. The double standard used by the left is idiotic.

Was “Kraut” also racist?

All the slurs used by the American soldiers in the series are based on the anti-Asian racism that was very prevalent in the U.S. during the 1940s. People from Asia are stereotyped as having "yellow" skin, that's why the American soldiers were using it as a slur. In the same vein "Jap" was a very common ethnic slur used for the Japanese during that time, thankfully its essentially never used now. Much like anti-Black racism one of its goals is to make the people seem subhuman and therefore easier to abuse and mistreat. It's easier to kill your enemy if you're taught that they're subhuman or "monkeys" like one of Leckie's friends calls the Japanese in the first episode. Look up the Japanese Internment Camps in the United States during WW2 for an example of the consequences this particular form of racial bias created.

Hi guys, enjoyed the reaction, even the arguing, haha!
I’m not sure why they called them yellow, although traditionally yellow is associated with cowardice, and the US considered the attack on Pearl Harbor to be cowardly. But maybe Westerners saw a yellow tone in the skin of Asians.
Ellie, you said you’d like to go to the jungle, or maybe you mean a tropical island. I’ve been to Hawaii, and it is very beautiful but the cockroaches there are HUGE. At least 2 or 3 inches long and they fly! I hated that! All tropical climates have huge bugs, which is why I’d rather live in a colder climate.
Gibson, the Marine who Leckie gave cigarettes to, was the same Marine who strangled that Japanese soldier. He also shot the cow in Melbourne. He certainly had psychological problems.
Malaria, jungle rot, hepatitis, all kinds of skin problems plagued the men there. Their toenails rotted off their feet. No thanks, I’d take Bastogne over the jungle. At least there is civilization outside the Ardennes.
