Last Names (Throwaway Script)

Angel:  Speaking of names…”

Angel:  Don’t take this the wrong way, but whose last name would we take if we got married. What are your thoughts on that?”

Narrator:  Micah splays a hand on his chest as he gasps, exaggerating.”

Micah: Me? Take that the wrong way? I’m not sure that could even be possible.”

Angel:  Right, I forgot you already proposed before you even knew what I looked like.”

Micah: I’m just a romantic.”

Angel:  How are you not already married with these outrageous stunts you do?”

Micah: Contrary to popular belief, I’m not looking to get engaged to just {i}anyone{/i}. I simply focus on what comes into my life. After that… I guess I’ll know when I know.”

Angel:  You’re so…you.”

Micah: Why, thank you.”

Narrator:  He smiles, fond and sweet.”

Micah: In terms of last names, I’m open to what you want. Whatever it may be.”

Angel:  In that case…”

My last name

Angel:  It’ll feel like I’m welcoming someone into the family by sharing names, you know? It’s cute."

Angel:  You'd be... part of my family...haha anyway-!"

Hybrid Last Name

Angel:  Make marriage the best group project ever with this one cool trick! We're not just [last name] Or just Yujin..."

Angel:  We're (Last name)-Yujin! My name first though, obviously."

Angel:  Just because I do more work~”

Micah: So not true! It should definitely be Yujin-[last name].”

Micah: Just because I’m “special” and “you like me”.”

Micah: Your words! Not mine.”

Angel:  Well, you’re not {i}that{/i} special and I don’t like you {i}that{/i} much so…”

Micah’s Last Name

Angel:  At least part of it, if you'd let me."

Angel:  You're important to me, having part of your name would really feel like... being yours (nervous laugh)."

Converge

Angel: What about you?”

Micah: I think that’s cute. And I’d be happy doing that, but since you’re asking for my opinion…I’d want to make a last name together.”

Micah: It doesn’t need to include our current last names.”

Micah: I just want us to come up with something that truly represents us— {i}us{/i}, as in a couple, us.”

Narrator:  You’d be lying if you said the prospect didn’t make your heart flutter.”

Angel:  That’s really sweet.”

pause

Narrator:  When his golden eyes are on you, you know he’s back in the present, bashfully testing the waters after introducing a snippet of his past.

Micah: Do you have attachments to your last name?”

Attached

Angel:  Yeah, I’m pretty attached to my last name.”

Micah: I’d be happy to have your last name.”

Angel:  Haha I know you would. But I still want to talk about what our all encompassing last name could be.”

Micah: Alright, well, thoughts on Micangel?”

Not attached

Angel:  I’m not really attached to my name.”

Micah: Yeah? What do you think our last name could be then?”

Micah: I’ve been sitting on Micangel.”

Converge

Narrator:  You burst into laughter.”

Angel:  That’s ridiculous. Your name would be Micah Micangel!”

Micah: It’s cuuuute. It shows how I’m bonded to you and it makes me think of that little nickname I gave you.”

Angel:  You can have your last name like that, but I’m definitely not.”

Micah: Alright, alright. How about you come up with one this time then?”

Angel:  Well there is Michelangelo, that's pretty close."

Micah: THE TURTLE?!"

Angel:  ...the painter."

Micah: Ohhh…”

Micah: ...maybe we should think about this some more.”

Angel:  ...Yeah, maybe we’re not good at this.”

Narrator:  In the late afternoon, the two of you share giggles, doubling over with a hush as if there’s a secret being made.”
