This was the page that really opened my eyes to a potential allegory hidden in this comic. I had thoughts about it before, but I think this was the page where my partner made a joke about it looking like my avatar was giving birth. That got me thinking like, yeah, a strange amount of this is reminiscent of archetypes surrounding the scenario of childbirth, or at least, a heavily romanticized version of it. The laying back and being told to steadily breathe as it happens, a friend holding the person's hand as their going through it. Change the background to a hospital and I would hardly blame anyone for thinking that's what this was out of context, well at least for the first frame. It makes me wonder if there was a subconscious intent there, like, could it be an unintentional allegory for rebirth? Who knows, heh, but I thought it would be interesting to bring up.
