Character Profile - Gabriel Beau Harjo (Bayley)

It's been a minute since I've been able to do another one of these character profiles! But alas, I am here with my (don't tell the others) very favorite, Beau <3 Since these character profiles are meant to be true to the characters as they are IN their canon story, I had to draw Beau in his sling. For those of you who haven't read the book-- it starts off with Beau having a broken arm and being honorably discharged out of boot camp, then going home to his families ranch and having to hire a new ranch hand per his father's request.

There's so many things I could say about Beau... but you guys all know him so well at this point, I feel it would be redundant lol.

A fun fact would be that he and Rowdy share a birthday! And, when I was trying to decide on a name for him waaaaay back in like 2019, I didn't even LIKE the name Beau. I wanted his name to be Gabriel, and go by Gabe for short, but there was something... nagging me about "Beau" that I just couldn't let go of. It was almost like this character chose the name himself haha. When I wrote it into the book, I decided to have Sage torment him by calling him "Gabriel" for the first half of it anyway. xD Of course, now, I love the name Beau. Wouldn't change it for anything <3

Oh, and also-- it's never been drawn or written anywhere, but when Beau and Sage get married later in life, Beau changes his last name to "Bayley" to match his families name. Sage would keep his last name as Peyton, thus resulting in the future Dirt being named.... Mason Sawyer Peyton Bayley. What a mouthful.
