I've gotten a number of comments on Kinley being "safe" throughout the updates of him making poor choices and seeking shady hookups with strangers. And, while I can defend some of his actions by saying "yes, he uses condoms" or whatever, I figured it wouldn't hurt to touch on this very real and nitty-gritty detail (post-TLLT of course).
It's a little bit spoilery to tell you this, but Kinley and Jaxsen's relationship (not to be confused with how they MEET in the comic-- that's still a surprise) doesn't start immediately with sex or even romance. It starts with trust and friendship. We all know Kinley desperately needs to learn how to love himself before he should be with anyone seriously, and Jaxsen is the perfect person to guide him down that path.
I imagine that when Kinley finally told Jaxsen he hadn't been tested for STI's in a long time, Jaxsen hopped in the car and drove 6 hours to Myrtle Beach just to drag him to the nearest clinic. It's the kind of show of support Kinley would need early on in their friendship (and his own healing) that would go a long way towards solidifying a relationship. Not to mention... Jaxsen can be pushy when he wants to be. lol.
Anyway, this might be the most "real" mini comic I've done, given the subject matter. No one ever talks about the slutty BL character sitting in a doctor's office terrified to be tested just incase it comes back positive. B)

Antibiotics can't work on several diseases (not just HIV) & some diseases that used to be quite curable are now getting antibiotic resistance.

Especially as heβs trying to leave that kind of lifestyle. βCause yeah, condoms donβt cover everything, HPV being the prime example from recent history, and Monkeypox being even more recent than that, and neither of those strictly require sex to pass onβ¦ Honestly, thatβs been one of the biggest reasons Iβve never been interested in hook-ups; Iβm too paranoid, lol. ( Nothing against hook-ups! Please have fun safely and responsibly! π ) β¦Is Kinley up on his vaccines? ;)
