Summary of art 2024!

Another year in the books, and that means a new summary of art pic!

I tried to go for a new design, but man, the old design was so strong that I don't know how I can improve it, so, I decided to just tweak and restyle it a bit. I went for a watermelon theme! What do you think? I think it came out pretty snazzy.

Okay, in this post I thought it'd be cool to talk about some of the 2024 art things I'm happy about. I made a list. Without further ado, here we go!

• I redrew a ton of old OCs! Back before I had a patreon and did so much fanart for work, I used to draw loads of OC pieces, and as of recently I'd been really missing that. I still drew a bunch of Chinatsu and some Shiori and Tsuno here and there, but there were a bunch of old OCs that I had only drawn once or twice and hadn't touched in years. So, in 2024 I decided to bring a bunch of them back, and I'm really happy with how that went. I brought back Wave girl, Fangirl, Emi & Chizuru, bath girl, Inami (and drew Shu for the first time!), and the Dressing or Undressing girl. I also did a cool new Tsuno piece. I hope you guys liked these too, and I'd like to keep doing some more OCs in this new year.

• I made a CG set with Shiori! (SFW / NSFW) For Valentines I had the idea to do this ambitious story CG set, using pose variants, speech bubbles, and VFX to tell a little story. Even though it was a lot of work, I think it came out really cool. I'm not sure when I'll do another like it, but it was a fun project!

• I made a Shiori Live2D animated set! (SFW / NSFW) Shiori (and her boyfriend) were once again the guinea pigs for another ambitious project. You might be familiar with artists like Waero who do these kinds of animated illustrations. Now that I know a decent amount of Live2D, this seemed like a fun project to tackle. It was super laborious - I had to make an entire Live2D model, rig it, and then make a bunch of animations telling a little story /sequence of actions. I also made variants for it for a NSFW variant. The whole thing ended up being 21 different animations, each with a zoomed in and zoomed out variant.

• Next, VN news, I finally redesigned the heroine for the current VN, Somewhere In The Shade! The design is probably still gonna be tightened up a little more before doing the full production on the portrait art, but I'm much more pleased with the design now, and the current poses I have planned are much more solid.

• I made substantial progress learning how to use Blender, and my work on the backgrounds for the visual novel is finally getting cleared of the bottleneck! I'm hoping that a couple more sessions and it should be ready to be brought into 2D, and being ready to be finalized so it can go in the game.

• I finished commissioning the OST for the VN! It took a little over a year of working with composer JadeVater, but it finally has all tracks complete. I'm excited for you guys to be able to hear these songs when the game is in a more complete state. I think they came out rad.

• Lastly in VN news, I started writing a new one! Somewhere In The Shade has been written for quite a while, and recently I was struck with inspiration to make the degenerate mommy VN I've always wanted, so I started writing, and my pen was on fire for weeks. Currently there's 13k lines of script, and about a hundred notes I need to compile and insert into the script. Work on Somewhere is going to take precedence over this until it's released, but I'm excited for the potential that this has and what I've already got down. Stay tuned for details!

• I improved my saucies a lot! It's now been 14 months since I started doing NSFW, and I've improved a ton. In my biased opinion, I think some stuff is starting to look really damn good. And I have so much I still intend to keep improving on. I hope you guys have enjoyed all the saucies so far, and are looking forward to future ones.

• I made a new stream overlay! Now it's looking much cleaner. I even coded some fancy animations for it that add some nice visual flair.

• I made a new Chinatsu banner! I'd been using the old Chinatsu banner on my socials everywhere (including here) for so many years now, and it was really showing its age. So, I finally made a new piece, and I'm much more pleased with it! I hope you guys like it too.

It's possible I forgot a thing or two, but I think that covers most of the major stuff. Thanks for all your support this year, and I hope you're excited for all the stuff to come. ❤
