Rolling Thunder: Art (PNGs)

Greetings All!

Normally I publish the new base item along with the magical version of it, but it will have to wait until next week. This is based off of the aptly named ‘Splitting Maul’ which is the combination of an Axe/Hammer. So that means, in this fantasy purpose it is a Maul/GreatAxe - dealing bludgeoning or slashing damage, selected at the time of the Attack Action to which side it is in use.

I am going to publish it on Tuesday as a Mundane base item, but still hammering out the kink of whether to use a 1d12 or 2d6 as the base. I’d love to get your thoughts, currently discussing with the editors on the Discord, so I might put up a vote.

If you don’t like that mechanic, it can always just be a normal Maul. I really would love your thoughts, as I tried to play around with this one more. Especially mechanic wise.

Description:

This wondrous creation holds the shape of a pristine decoration, but at its heart it is crafted for vastly more. This Splitting Maul, was the final creation of a dwarven master craftsman and warrior who bore no descendants. Instead, his presence was a constant echo throughout the halls from the booming clash of hammer against anvil, which was known as the Rolling Thunder. A small collection of these creations were made as a meaningful gesture to a worthy successor.

Tabs:

• The user gains a +2 bonus to Attack and Damage Rolls made with this weapon.
• This weapon holds 4 Charges and regains 1d4 charges each Dawn. These charges can be used in the following ways.
• Thunderous Boom: 1 Charge - As a Bonus Action, the user can spark the encased storm within the weapon and call forth rolling thunder. This weapon deals an additional 1d6 thunder damage, and its blows can be heard up to 60ft away, this feature lasts for 1 Minute or until the user ends it early (No Action Required.)
  • If Underground: This damage increases to 2d6 Thunder damage and the blows can be heard 120ft away.
• Splitting Thunder: 1 Charge - As an Action, the user can cast Thunderwave or Shatter from this weapon at 3rd level (4d8 Thunder damage) with a Save DC:16.
• Recharge: This weapon can regain additional charges in the following ways.
  • Call of the Skies: It regains 1 Charge per 10 minutes exposed to the thunder of a natural storm.
  • Booming Heart: If the hammer end is used in crafting of metal or stone continuously for 1 hour, it regains all charges.
