Stake of Fertility: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

I almost reverted this back to the name I drafted it under, Druid’s Blessing, but it still seemed too general. So the Fertility comment generator it is! This was one of the first that answered the call for Common items, though I did remove Rod from the title before Instagram melted down with laughter.

I like the simplicity, and strength of this stake over time, not only is there an upfront investment but also the time period for the actual harvest. While it does have some interesting advantages, such as doubling the yield. It takes about 15 of these to cover the same area as the normal 8 hour casting of the Plant Growth spell, which makes it invaluable for some but muted for others.

That is a balance I like to see when filling up my worlds, just imagine how much a bundle of these would mean to settlers compared to a well established wizard in their tower. The gaps in the power and needs is an impressive dynamic to touch on.

Description:

This stake has been carefully hand grown as two intertwined saplings and then fashioned into a stake by druids. It was originally made as an offering to common folk to aid in harvest in hazardous environments. This twinned oak stake is two feet in length, bearing intricate eleven carvings that glow lightly in the dawn’s light. It offers a shimmer of its naturally imbued magic that it then transfers.

• As a ritual taking place over 2 hours, this stake can be activated and placed into the ground, causing the following effects within a 10ft square.
  • Activation grants the long-term benefits of the Plant Growth spell to the radius. Any plant is able to grow regardless of the land’s condition or fertility.
  • In addition, all plants yield twice the normal amount of food or ingredients when harvested.
• These effects will remain until the stake is removed from the area, breaking its effects.
