this got me thinking and now im a little confused. how is it that japan usually has zero tolerance for copyright infringement in most cases, but they're totally ok with it if you make and selling a manga using characters you dont have rights to use?

I love this video, I'm VERY sad that in my last visit to Japan I didn't pay a visit to Toranoana shop in Akiba, I only hit Mandarake store in Akiba and in Osaka, went to their shops in the Nakano broadway too back in 2019. Hopefully there are similar shops to Toranoana like this one in the future. Walking into a store to browse has a very good feeling different from a digital store front.

Well, luckily with the current state of the Yen, 97K Yen is only $675, so he wasn't actually that far over his $500 budget! It is a shame to see physical stores like this disappear, even if you can still buy from them online, there's something special about being able to browse through a physical store and just stumble across new things in a manner that you never do with online shopping.

wow... never went doujin shopping when lived in Tokyo, but I kind of understand your frustration...and it kinda made me cry... you know back in the days when I worked at book off at Shinjuku we also sold the lude stuff... sometimes our girl employees had to look at some lude titles that were told on a phone which was kinda drama every time how often people can change their mood in a glimpse. but I never understood the beauty of it. thank you for showing us how to enjoy the hornyness and the art at the same time joey!

Oh man, I saw 2 weeks ago that Tora no Ana was closing all their shops (except the Ikebukuro one) and what a shit, with Mandarake is my favourite shop of all Akiba, and I always went there to buy all my Doujinsh. Akiba will be unrecognizable when I can come back again. Do you know other big shops of erodoujinshis in Akiba? I know Melon Books, Mandarake and comic z...somethingsomething but they are all very small compared with Tora no Ana and I will need new shops to go to buy stuff. Excelent video btw.
