You really need to have more trust in what a character can achieve, even if their blood doesn't have Targaryen Blood.

It makes his relavance in the world neglegable and kind of makes the entirety of Roberts Rebellion a giant plot hole. All he can ever amount to is a strong swordsman under his brother. Or if he decides to go to the wall, end up the same as he did in canon. He has no relevance to the larger story or ASOIAF. I should also mention that I think Ned is a fuckin coward, but that's neither here not there.

2025-07-25 12:24:40 +0000 UTCHere is the issue with Catelyn argument that bastards are raised away from their trueborn families: that is not how House Stark does it. They have a history of raising baseborn children with their trueborn siblings. Also Jon is different because in this universe, he is descended from two ancient and powerful houses who once ruled as Kings. (Also I know that is true in canon, but this time Ned is not keeping it a full on secret due to the fact his parentage wouldn’t lead to a potential war)
