Supposedly, it was not about Cardi because she was at the Met Gala asking for Cardi, so idk who she's talking bout not writing raps... the song all over the place, and I feel like in the horse scene she stole one of Cardi's flows, so I hope she wasn't dissing Cardi by using her flow.

I want her to evolve in her artistry as well, but I don’t think the music industry & hip hop media are giving her the space/peace to do so.

I will say ppl are super hyper critical of her when yall let some other girls spit the same bars for years. Also Megan switched her flows all the time but because she doesn’t switch voices and doing cartoony shit she is accused of not being versatile. BUT THE DAY SHE DOES IT ….. she will be accused of copying off Nicki who switches up her voice a lot . So she can’t win. Megan has a wide array of topics she raps about , anxiety, depression, missing her parents, feeling alone , her lover for gaming and anime , infused it into her music , she will always rap about being a bad bitch with great pussy and money and haters cuz she can . I love her a million and at the same time I would like her to continue to tap in and develop even more and try new sounds . Like TYG , I love that song so much I wish she gave us a video with all girls in a mosh pit or something like that . Idk I just want her to win .

If you have to constantly bend over backwards to defend someone that has a LARGE audience of people asking for an evolution, it’s time to HANG IT UP—FLATSCREEN. That’s delusion! Absolutely, however do I think a lot of the rap girls rap about the same thing maybe less? For sure. Megan used a lot of experimental sounds in her last project along with some rooted southern sounds as well. I don’t really want to name any of the other rap girls because MOST of them give their own flare and vibe and deserve a space to be just that. To speak on the defensive rap approach, wasn’t it recent that Megan just minding her business gets shaded by one of her former “suitor’s” ex and her friends acting as though Megan isn’t a global Girl. I think the defensive approach really speaks to her experience so far after her incident with Tory.

However, her artistry has severely lacked in evolution. Cardi's silence maintains her position, Megan has given us 2 back to back albums that sound like one long playlist. She has over saturated her own sound, so it is hard to appreciate it like we did in the beginning. We loved her 5 years ago because she was a fresh sound and look for female rap, but nothing has changed visually or sonically. So, naturally people are bored. But if you are not, that is fine. Let people have their opinions.

Nerd, gaming and anime culture, her depression, anxiety and insecurities, the death of her mother. Frankly, she's a lot more versatile in terms of subject matter than a lot of rappers (male or female). I really don't get it, it's like he's not actually listening to the songs or maybe he's not catching the double and triple entendres? She's such a good rapper. If she was a man with the wordplay and flow she has, she would be regularly in discussion in top 10 living mainstream MCs, but I feel Zach is minimizing and reducing her. Surprising and a little disappointing. Please help me understand better Zach?

Yes, sometimes her subject matter is similar across different songs but so what if your bars and flow are on point and top tier. Pusha T can't go a verse without rapping about selling cocaine but he's still an extremely skilled, adept and proven MC. This woman is rapping her ass off (and quite effortlessly) and you can't give her credit because she's stating facts (even if she's said the facts before). He says she's not competing with Cardi B, I don't understand what that even means. I'm serious. Does anybody legitimately and sincerely believe Cardi B is a better lyricist than Megan? I don't mean to be disrespectful but that's just silly, I don't understand how anyone who listens to rap and hip hop regularly could believe that.
