Playing Catch up (an update)

I normally like to keep updates to weekly, doing them every Thursday, with one off per month...but chriiiiiist has my schedule been shafted by a few things. Thanksgiving (US) I planned to do work durring a $600 round trip to see family, but I got sick on the way out to the point I barely got to do anything durring my visit, then sick again while there with covid making me leave early (didn't wanna infect some very vulnerable family) and that jumped expenses from $600 for the trip to $750.
And because I wasn't working, I had to start taking loans from clients, taking extra work on, and I hadn't gotten the Rivet comic done. Then I got an extra few bills in I didn't know about adding up to another $450. All in all that's close to $2000 in a 2 week period I wasn't working between rent, trip, and the bills. So I took on a ton of work that you can see on my FA later today. It's taken until the start of this week to get out from under just owed work. Taking on more work from there I've been able to get my account back to where I can afford to eat comfortably. I have two more comms to finish that are paid for right now, and two more set up to be paid for tomorrow. That's four pieces left until I'm good and comfortable enough to take a real break. (I'll have done 22 full pieces of art since the start of December)
And for that break I know exactly what I wanna spend it on. A stream. I've got a few shows I'm planning to watch with buddies in my art server (https://discord.gg/tc3Wed7W good 7 days) Dragon's Flamingo. Durring these streams, I'm also going to stream myself doing Rivet Comic work and I wanna take most of this next week to catch all-the-way up!! That's 20 pages before christmas!

I was also going to have news about the $15 tier...but I just got an update on the rules for patreon and I don't think I can do it. Retooling the idea right now. I'm considering an alternate take on events in the comic to be the general theme.
TL;DR - I got real busy with life but I'm gonna be doing a ton of work soon!

Ooooo a very good idea to run a seperate system. Sadly I don't know if that's going to be an option, as I've already been constantly burning the candle at both ends lately just to keep up with this and all of the work I need to do commissions wise ($4000 in a month or so, to get to my current needs to go see my girl). That being said, with the 3D work I'm trying to get on top of, I think the next month or so of Rivet work (as well as whatever I'm able to do on my road trip across the US again this month) should allow me to start implimenting much better, more well-made backgrounds with the help of Blender. :> So hey, never say never on me getting more room to work.

2023-01-27 07:00:02 +0000 UTCI like your art and the progress you are making as an artist. If you compare with the first pictures I found, you can clearly see that it has become better. So after reading this post I switched the tier to a higher one. Maybe it's better not to hide such information behind a tier, because if the others read it, they will be more likely to support you. Patreon has always been a pain in the ass with their strict rules, that's why many other artists have already switched to Subscribestar (SS) or run both at the same time and post the 'forbidden' art on SS.
