@Atom - It is a flashback. We never saw what happened between them in the kitchen when Sam cornered Luke like that until he was talking to Godric. Sam revealed how badly the conversation went. However…Sam thought spelling out that he'd seen everything would somehow open him up, which didn't happen. He gets embarrassed easily, and won't fess up to his feelings, sometimes so he needs this to grow. With space and time he comes around. lol
