Haven't drawn our favorite lion husband in a while, so here he is. 🦁

This piece was a little experiment. You might notice that the linework in this is different from my usual work. For this piece, I used ArtRage Vitae to do my linework. The way ArtRage handles / renders it's pencil tool is really nice, almost like the real thing (at least in my opinion).

This piece originally started out in PaintToolSAI (as seen in the last image). While the sketch was looking nice in the early stage, I wasn't completely satisfied with how it was looking. I sat on this one for a while (half a year almost), until I decided to give ArtRage a try.

Once the outlines where done, I brought the sketch back into SAI for coloring / shading.

I think I'll be doing some more experiments with ArtRage this year. Working on this piece of Byron gave me a little itty bitty spark of inspiration, something that I feel like I've been missing for a while with my work. We'll see how it goes :)
