I'm trying to imagine a gender-flipped version of an exchange like Mac and Beaver's. With a guy being like "come on, babe, why can't we just do it already?" And then the girl gets upset and storms off with "good luck getting laid." I have to wonder if the reaction would've been the same. Like, it's reasonable enough that Mac has questions, and Beaver didn't handle it very well by storming off instead of having an honest conversation. That said, I think it's okay for people of any gender to not want to have sex for any reason at all and "no" is not an invitation to negotiate. I also think it's okay for someone of any gender to be upset by the idea that their partner might only want sex (I don't think that's actually the case for Mac) and merely performs the rest of courtship as a means to that end. (Beaver probably assumes this, given that he hangs out with Kendall so much, and she regularly uses young men for sex and/or money.) On the flip side, it's okay for Mac to say she wants to feel wanted, or that sexual intimacy is an important part of a relationship for her, and conclude that she and Beaver might not be a good match if that's not something he wants too. I guess I can sort of see where they're both coming from, is what I'm saying. I can see where their miscommunications are happening and I think that's probably a sign of good writing.

It's the fact that Danny, and thus the Fitzpatricks have access to explosives which makes Veronica think they Might have something to do with the bus crash/explosion.
