I believe it’s Dick who talks about it while they at the ballpark. My read of the dead rat is that was the smell that Dick was talking about. Someone planted it to get the rich kids off the bus

2024-06-10 03:24:10 +0000 UTCYeah, this is the episode where the season remembers some of its overarching plots exist :D It's implied that Clarence takes out the diplomat's son in Vegas since he would never stand trial. With stuff like the "interrogation" scene here and his implied involvement in covering up Lily's death for the Kane it's implied that he has some kind of black ops past before working for Jake.

2024-06-10 02:07:11 +0000 UTCJoss Whedon being in this reminded me that he's pretty much the reason I found out about this show. Back before the unpleasantness became public knowledge, there was a fan site for his shows and sometimes he would post there. He made a post about how awesome Veronica Mars was and I figured since I enjoyed his shows, maybe I'd check out this one. I think I had some LiveJournal friends who also posted about it, so maybe I would've eventually got into the show anyway, but his post tipped the scale. I may be misremembering, but I think him being publicly supportive of the show is what led to his guest appearance in this episode.
