Nikke is one of those media anomalies that is apparently insanely successful and yet not many seem to talk about it online. At least not in the circles I roll in. To the unaware, I'd best describe it as an extremely horny gallery shooter/visual novel about robot waifus with tragic backstories being sent into battle. It's a gatcha game with mobile roots, a genre that I typically look down my nose and make huffy, disapproving noises at. But I have to say that the character designs on these thirsty ladies can be downright stunning on occasion. It's 2D artwork comprised of what I estimate to be a buttload of Spine skeletal animation layers. It's normally not a style I'm a fan of but Nikke proves it can look amazing if you throw enough money and talent at it.
So what do you think? Have you played it? Are there any other mobile games that you feel have delivered more quality than you might expect from them? I'd love to hear about it in the comments and thank you for your patience this week while I bounce back from the flu!

Hey thanks for noticing the details! One thing I've found whenever I try to draw an anime girl anymore is that they never end up really looking like the source material outside the costume and hair. I think my style has started to lean too realistic. XD

2024-03-29 20:13:28 +0000 UTCNice! No idea about this game since I don't game anymore, but the "hair around the cock" has for some reason become the "Ironic Reinbach Thing" to me, haha. I can't remember ever seeing it anywhere else. I'm loving how chunky the hair looks- you've kind of found a middle-ground between comic book and anime hair. It has the anime-style "pieces" separated by thick lines, but more comic-style coloring so it's less flat and more 3D. The milky-white breasts are a nice color-job, too!

2024-03-27 01:58:39 +0000 UTCI got into Nikke around the time of its anniversary by pure chance. A buddy of mine mentioned he'd started playing it to kill time, and I ended up making an account. The joke in the community is that you come for the waifus, but stay for the crippling depression and jiggle physics.

I've only gotten into Nikke a few months ago too, and before then i'd never even heard of the game.
