A Note on Stretch Goals

First off I'd like to take a moment to welcome all the new supporters who joined this week! May has already been an amazing month for the growth of this site, and it's not even half over yet. Obviously I'll be doing my best to put out good work and keep this momentum, but at the moment let's talk about Patreon stretch goals. 

I've never been a fan of stretch goals for a couple of reasons. One is that it can be hard to promise I'll be able to accomplish something specific in the far off future, as sometimes I can't be sure something is possible (or as easy as I thought it would be) until I try to do it first. For example, on the last goal, I promised to hire voice actresses for some of the sex scenes in the game. I'm still going to do it, but it wasn't until the rubber hit the road that we realized it wouldn't make sense to hire anyone this early into the game's development. As if we got someone to voice, say, Parker's sex scenes now, what if we had another scene in three months and the original actress was no longer available for whatever reason? We'd have to find a replacement and the original audio would be wasted. That type of thing didn't occur to me until the last minute, and I prefer not to make promises until I'm already positive I'll be able to deliver.

Another issue is just the general idea of promising a better product for more money doesn't sit well with me. It implies that I'm not already doing everything I can think of to make my Patreon as good as it can be, which I am.

But, as of this week, we've officially left our last goal in the dust, so it's time for me to make a new one. I wanted to make this post to explain why I'm about to set the new goal to be what I consider (as of this writing) absurdly high, and keep the promised rewards for meeting it somewhat vague.

So in the meantime, whether we ever hit this new goal or not, I'll be doing my best to put out work that keeps your interest. And as always my thanks goes out to everyone reading this for making it possible for me to work a dream job for a living.
