Most of it is pretty subtle changes, but I am starting to notice a pattern on what he thinks I have a problem with: my rendering is flat and I need to work on implying roundness with my light and shadow. Practice is very important but more and more I'm appreciating the value of direct instruction. Lately I've been improving at things I may never have even thought to practice on otherwise. :)
